just the fact no single military soldier fighting in the anglophone zone can speak English tells you alot about the crisis

As someone who hails from this region and who has read quite extensively on this issue, I can affirm to you that at the root of this conflict lies corruption and bad governance and not merely language as some may think. This conflict could have been so easily avoided but the government believed the army could fix all problems. This is a classical example of violence not always being the solution to problems and this is the direct consequence of lack of tact and wit in governance. Great report.

The situation In Cameroon is not about French vs English. It is not a language problem. The people in southern Cameroon do not hate our brothers and sisters in la republic du cameroun. The people in southern Cameroon are fighting the regime of the government of Paul Biya who have killed my people in southern cameroon in many genocidal ways. They are not fighting French vs English. Please look deeper into this conflict in the country. They are fighting oppression, they are not fighting over French or english. The people in my country are fighting for their basic human rights, and freedom. It is not a language issue. My people have been killed, innocent childrens, mother's, fathers and much more have killed or displaced, oppressed. our villages and regions have been burned. The Government regime have declared war on my people in Southern Cameroon all because they peacefully protested with leaves and palm trees in their hands asking to be treated as human beings. We are not fighting over whether you speak French or english. We are fighting for our basic human rights, for freedom in our land. Forgive me if I offended you. May God Bless you in Jesus name.
