Jaws 3 (1983) Jaws The Revenge (1987)
Jaws 3-D (titled Jaws III in its 2-D form) is a 1983 American horror film directed by Joe Alves and starring Dennis Quaid, Bess Armstrong, Simon MacCorkindale and Louis Gossett Jr. It is the second sequel to Steven Spielberg's Jaws and the third installment in the Jaws franchise. The film follows the Brody children from the previous films to SeaWorld, a Florida marine park with underwater tunnels and lagoons. As the park prepares for opening, a young great white shark infiltrates the park from the sea, seemingly attacking and killing the park's employees. Once the shark is captured, it becomes apparent that a second, much larger shark also entered the park and was the real culprit.
Jaws: The Revenge is a 1987 American horror film produced and directed by Joseph Sargent. The fourth and final film in the Jaws franchise, it stars Lorraine Gary, who came out of retirement to reprise her role from the first two films, along with new cast members Lance Guest, Mario Van Peebles, Karen Young and Michael Caine.

The little girl, Thea, in jaws The revenge was Judith Barsi. While she was packing to fly to the Bahamas to shoot this movie with her mother, her father cornered her in her bedroom with a knife to her throat, telling her that if her and her mom didn't come back to him, he would cut their throats. She was eight years old. Can you imagine? And she still had the maturity to be able to work and go through with acting in the movie after that. Her home wife was miserable. Her father was constantly threatening to kill her and her mom. She underwent severe psychological abuse. There was physical abuse, too, of course. The once bubbly, charming little girl became a nervous wreck, and had a severe break down at an audition when asked to sing a song about going home for "all dogs go to Heaven." she ended up still voicing the little girl in that movie, but they got someone else to sing the song. She also voice ducky in the land before Time (those were two most famous roles). She was only 10 years old when her dad did what he had told everyone he was going to do--and killed her and her mom.

Her father shot himself a couple days after killing Judith and her mom. They had almost no family, so co-stars fromGrowing pains (Judith had appeared on one ir two episodes) had to throw her and mom a funeral.. i believe the actor who played her dad in this Jaws movie was a pallbearer. Judith and Mom didnt even have headstones for years until fans raised the funds in early 2000's (they died 1988)

Jaws The Revenge rectonned Jaws 3, making Jaws The Revenge a direct sequel to Jaws 1 and 2, completely ignoring the events of Jaws 3. So while the Brody brothers of Jaws 3 are the same characters of Jaws 1 and 2, in Jaws The Revenge they aren't the same Brody brother characters as Jaws 3. That's why they don't have the same significant others, the events of Sea World are never mentioned/referenced and their jobs are completely different So the Jaws franchise has two timeline continuities.... Timeline one: Jaws 1, 2 and 3 Timeline two: Jaws 1, 2 and The Revenge

The best way to watch Jaws 3D is with a 3D TV/Monitor and passive polarized glasses. That way the 3D really pops and the color is not degraded like in anaglyph 3D.

Enjoyed your reactions to these. As a teenager I bought the JAWS 3 View-Master reel set at a K-mart in 1983 (still have it). Liked how you showed the JAWS 3 and JAWS: The Revenge posters side by side where they looked beautiful and vibrant. Too bad 3 and 4 didn't live up to the expectations of their poster art. The posters for 3 and 4 are more awesome than their respective movies.

20:29 Three years after this movie was made, I went to Sea World (Florida). I was disappointed that the underwater tunnels weren't the same as the movie, it was just one tunnel...but I DID get to meet one of the female skiers (The one that sees the shark and spins around quickly. And I got to dance with these fine ladies.

Thea, the little girl who plays Mike’s daughter in the last movie, was a famous actress. She is most known for being the voice of Ducky in The Land Before Time. She was killed by her dad before that film released.

Michael in Jaws 4 (Lance Guest) was also The Last Starfighter and in Halloween II with Jamie Lee Curtis. I hated Jaws 3D and skipped right over it, but I liked Jaws 4 and saw it at least twice in the cinema - but yes, it's nothing compared to the original and Jaws 2 was very good.

Jaws 3D (which was shown in theaters in 3D, with 3D glasses, as opposed to television in which the formatting was taken out) was pretty bad, but had some redeeming values. As for Jaws The Revenge, there is nothing salvageable from that wreck. It was definitely a film that even the great Sir Michael Caine couldn't save...so he mailed in his performance and cashed in the paycheck to this abysmal production. For such a great and culturally iconic franchise, it imploded in the deep. Fortunately, even this finale film couldn't sink the greatness of the first two films.

Hi Cami!🙂Nice to see you doing this cheesy horror double feature! Jaws 3D relied heavily on the 3D novelty, and may have sacrificed some acting & story do to it.😉"Friday the 13th: Part III 3D" was released the year before this and was a success at the box office. The 3D was direct in your face like this film, but the whole film didn't revolve around the effects. You looked so scared of those 3D effects, Cami!!!😱😄"Jaws the Revenge" (This time it's personal)!😀That was the tagline, it is even on the poster. Well, you now have bragging rights that you have seen the lowest grossing Jaws film ever made. Your screams of terror througout this film will haunt me, wait, that was laughing, nevermind.😉"Jaws 2" was a masterpiece compared to these two. Jaws 4 is a supposed to a male and the son of Jaws 1 and Jaws 2 and is often referred to as Vengeance the shark according to Jaws lore. The plot of Jaws 4 is supposed to be that jaws 4 or Vengeance the Shark is out for revenge against the Brody family in an effort to avenge the death of his parent sharks in Jaws 1 and 2.

@@WheresWaldo05it is in the books. The first novel and the novelization of Jaws 2 and Jaws the Revenge (they didn't novelize 3) are VERY different and are their own inclusive trilogy. In the books the second shark is the pregnant mate of the first and vengeance IS the spawn.

I find Jaws 3 and Jaws The Revenge to be enjoyable despite them being bad, they both have good scores especially the 4th films version of the theme and good casts plus considering I've seen countless shark movies over the years I consider these two to be far better then most of those. I get a TV movie vibe from the 3rd movie as if it was originally planned to be a TV movie but got a theatrical release though I remember reading an article many years ago that allegedly Universal wanted to make more Jaws movies after the second but have them be TV movies instead and while the 3rd movie was a box office success for the most part but the reception made them shelve those plans. Whether the plan to have Jaws TV movies as sequels is true or not we live in a time that considering TV projects tend to be better then movies these days this franchise could always make a com eback through that route whether they being continuations of the series or be a reboot or be simple stand alone so fans can decide if they are part of the Jawsverse or not. The main issue I have with 3 and 4 is that it is the Brody family and I believe if both of them had different characters (and plots and scripts lol) they would have been better rather then people going "what is it with this family and overgrown man eating Great White Sharks?"

Jaws 3 or Jaws 3D hoped to benefit from the the early days of 3D movies but failed to to do as well as was hoped and end up being more of miss than a with audiences and critics who felt that by Jaws 3 or Jaws 3D that the franchise had strayed to far from the the original Jaws movie. Ultimately Jaws 3 or Jaws 3D and Jaws 4 ere viewed as being more about trying to make more money off the Jaws phenomenon than sticking to the nostalgia of original Jaws, nostalgia that Jaws 2 was viewed as being able to still capture and provide making it the only worthy sequel among the 3 Jaws sequels in the minds of Jaws audiences and fans .

Very honest reactions, which I can appreciate. I watched all of these as a kid, and I actually really liked the 4th one, and how they made it “personal”…lol. Having the ability to suspend your disbelief as a kid, rather then adult, really helps push the narrative in the 4th one. I’ve always hated the 3rd one, I think it’s one of the worst movies ever made. Great reactions to both though. 👍

I just thought the ending of Jaws 3 was dumb and cheesy... with the slo-MO of the dolphins. Some of the acting was bad in that one. Fitz-Royce and his buddy were idiots!

Regarding the ending of 'Jaws: The Revenge', the original ending had the shark getting impaled by the boat's bowsprit and blood spewing out of the shark's mouth. Then the front part of the boat broke off due to the weight of the dead shark and sank to the bottom of the sea along with the shark. And Jake was never seen again after the shark grabbed him and took him underwater. However, there were complaints about the shark's death being too gory (whether from Universal Studios or from moviegoers, I don't know). Moviegoers definitely didn't like Jake dying in the movie, so Universal Studios ordered a remake of the ending. Unfortunately, the studio didn't give much money for the reshoots, thus why we got a fake-looking shark blowing up. The original ending is sometimes featured in TV airings of 'Jaws: The Revenge'. Btw, the part at the end where you said the background looked like a painted wall, you are correct. That was filmed in an outdoor tank at Universal Studios.

I find essentially nothing positive to say about Jaws 3D. Outside of the nighttime scene with the Brody brothers discussing their childhood trauma with their love interests, there's very little in the way of character moments, which makes the whole thing pretty dull. Badly-executed 3D effects aren't enough to carry a film that doesn't provide any emotional investment. Add to that the utterly inappropriate musical score by Alan Parker, which sounds like it belongs in a kids' adventure film half the time, and there's very little to give the impression that anyone was trying to make anything other than a buck. By contrast, Jaws: The Revenge is filled with character moments, even if they don't quite capture the slice of life feeling of similar scenes in the original movie. At least they tried. Also, the movie has a dreamlike quality to it (enhanced greatly by the ethereal musical score by Michael Small) that almost manages to sell the utterly preposterous plot, and the Bahamas serve as a more visually appealing setting than SeaWorld. So it's not a good movie, but it's at least trying to be a good movie.

Jaws 3 is forgotten in this jaws movie because notice Micheal Brody didn't mention working at Sea World. Also in the Jaws The Revenge novel the shark is controlled by a witch doctor that had a conflict with Micheal Brody, thats the real reason why it's after The Brodies. Yes and no I like and didnt like JTR because of course there's not going to be a Jaws 5. The plot is stupid and ridiculous but the shark looks realistic this time especially the teeth and eyes etc. And the shark blew up because of the device Jake put in its mouth and it is actually a shock bomb.

@@Letstunein aww thank you I appreciate you enjoyed my JTR info. yes it was Jake's device that blew the shark up because when Ellen stabs the shark with the sharp broken boat mast at the exact spot where the device is inside the shark, causing the device to burst its electrical impulses like a reactor. In new fact turning Jake's equipment "don't crap out" into a bomb-like equipment, which causes the shark's explosive fate.

Anyone that thinks jaws 3 is a bad filn should have seen it as i did when it was released. No one cared about how bad the film was as people were witnessing 3D for the first time( which by the way the 3D then was actually better than it is today believe it or not.) Everyone was so engrossed & spellbound by the 3D that we all raved about the movie. The mistake people make today is they are watching the non 3D version & therefore all they are going to judge is how bad the effects are as well as the plot & the acting.

I saw it when it was released. I was 13. I thought it was bad even then because I'd seen Jaws (and Jaws 2) at the cinema. Jaws 3 was a huge let down. The only fun was wearing those silly glasses.

Yeah the shark Jaws is getting payback on the worst people in Jaws The Revenge. That's why it sank sucked at the box office. And thats why no more Jaws movies

@@hankking9007 if they did make a Jaws V, what do you think the plot could be that would be good? It is always fun to imagine sequels that will probably never get made. But they probably couldn’t do a Jaws V. Hard to think of any plot that could work!

@@hankking9007 I think your instinct to return to Amity is right on. Think about how many people compared lockdown to the Mayor. Could be about a town trying to recover post pandemic. And then there’s a shark attack and it is more about the coverup. Like this time the mayor is Blatantly covering it up. And it is the son of Larry Vaughn who has to expose the mayor and then they have to humanely get the shark out of there without killing it but even that proves difficult. And Thea could definitely be a character. Basically Free Willy but it’s a great white shark haha.

Both of these movies were really bad. in fact The Revenge was So bad it killed the franchise. and are not even worth watching. Jaws, and Jaws 2 are the only ones of the Jaws franchise worth watching. these two movies should really be tossed in the trash can and forgotten they were ever made.
