Instead of waiting for the paint to dry, you can mix a lot of super thick paint and then almost place it on the canvas instead of rub it in. This will alow you to do many layers in one sitting (wet on wet). Great painting btw.

yeah dawg! Oils are MY medium! Oils def have their own flow vs acrylics but I think you'd really dig them once you got the hang of it. You look like you had a lot of good ideas and good advices from people. For thinner I use Gamsol by Gamblin, it is a studio safe thinner. On the bottle it doesn't even say anything about having to keep a window open. You can also use Gamvar by Gamblin to varnish it once it's dry to touch (with other varnishs you have to wait super long until the whole thing is done) You'll probably get some sinking in with the colors since you primed with acrylics and the Gamvar will bring it all back. A tiny bottle will last a whole bunch of paintings, it goes really far! Generally I work from dark to light to avoid muddying up the colors, it looks like you did that when working on the hair. When I'm painting in oils I usually use 3 different brushes, one for darks, one for mediums and one for lights of all the same size. That really helps you not muddy up your colors cause if you use just one brush you go "oh shit this is too dark, I need more light" and then "Oh shit this is too light, I need more dark" it gets a little messy/muddy haha You did follow the fat over lean rule correctly. I think we'd have a similar painting process. I use a black and white layer underneath first but you don't necessarily need to do that. I have a bunch of oil painting vids on my channel. Overall I think you did a really good job with it! Keep crushin!
