Join us on our travels on the Camino de Santiago! About this episode:
After a restful stay in Pamplona (www.alberguesc...) we made the 25.5km walk towards Puenta la Reina. So with an early morning stop at the panaderia to pick up pastries and a milk coffee, we headed on our way out of this university city 🚶‍♀️. Up the mountains to the Alto de Perdon (the mount of forgiveness) where we see the Peregrinos sculpture and an amazing view!
On arrival to the beautiful town of Puenta la Reina, we then climbed a small mountain (in reality it was about 50 metres, but after a day of hiking felt like a 1000 metre climb) to our auberge (www.campingelr...) for the night when we got a slight tease with a pool that had no water in it 😞.
Catch us on Episode 8 when you see us tackle the next stage of our walk to Estella (and an amazing hostel)!

Mark, you have an amazing ability to find those beetles everywhere :) That steep descent down from the metal pilgrims marked the third one in four days. My knees went on strike. Thankfully it was the last one for awhile. I ate lunch at the same place as you guys did in Uterga...it was a popular spot! What I like about your videos in particular is that you capture the trail of the entire day, and then discuss your quarters for the evening as well. Good humour is a bonus!

Hey Mark...they just seemed to follow me around 🤣 Uterga was an amazing town and really popular. Thank you for the kind comments, humour gets you through a lot in life 👍

@@EverydayJourneysTV I forgot to comment on your discussion about underwear. Chafing has always been a problem for me, even when I was in the infantry. Then I discovered merino wool underwear which can solve your problem. However, I would go with a size smaller than one usually does, so that the inner thighs are covered tightly with the merino wool, leaving no room for chafing. Cheers!

We stayed at that Albergue in early April, there were only 6 of us there. It did mean we didn’t see much of Puenta La Reina, good excuse to go back one day. Buen Camino!

Just caught up now, sun rising in Hereford and imagining the pounding of your feet on Spanish soil - what a special bond Henry and Megan will have sharing this trip together. Sending good wishes x

The hill down afterwards was a bit of a shock but amazing sense of achievement when we got to the top there 🏔

Hi Louise, I don't know if your able to do this but, about your feet, I think a new pair of shoes in a wide fitting would help or at the very least a pair of good hiking sandals. They should give your feet break during the day. Good luck. Chris from Sydney, Australia.

Hey Chris...thanks for the pointers there. Fortunately my feet started to recover through some TLC. This is handy information for other viewers though that are looking to start the Camino 👣

Just curious ... are you live on the Camino, or you doing the videos after returning home?

Hey Cindy...we are currently live on the Camino 😀. We are a little behind on the editing and issuing of the episodes (wifi not the best in some regions), but we are hoping to get them out as quickly as possible 👍
