I would recommend at least one 5 or so mile walk with your pack packed with your gear before you go, just to make sure that it fits well. It’s better to find any issues with your pack before you leave rather than a day or two into your Camino.

I don't worry too much about being 100% accurate. Just pack for all conditions, especially in the spring when the weather can change quickly. My first Camino I crossed the Pyrenees with beautiful weather, mostly sunny and warm and we woke up the next morning with cold rain for the next week. As long as you have either a rain jacket or poncho and a warm layer that you can combine with base layer and some kind of windproof layer like a rain jacket, you should be good for any conditions. You'll be walking for 5 weeks, so expect sun and rain and wind at any time. Mostly what I worry about is the first day. You want mild or sunny weather going over the mountains. At the very least you don't want a heavy rainstorm while you're trying to cross over. It can get dangerous up there in extreme weather. So if you get an opportunity to time it for a sunny day, that's what you should shoot for. For apps, I just use the one on my phone or you could go to any of the internet ones.
