🛥️ Day 6: Taormina - Reggio Calabria - Lipari 🌅

Our journey today began in the early hours, untying from the buoy at Taormina with the night still surrounding us. As we sailed into the legendary Strait of Messina, the calm waters began to stir-a subtle nod to the mythological clash between Scylla and Charybdis. Despite the turbulence, we maintained our course and made it across to Calabria.
🌄 Reggio Calabria By morning, we arrived at the port of Reggio Calabria. Here, we took some time to address minor issues with the boat and explore the city. Our journey led us to the impressive 'Museo Archeologico Nazionale Reggio Calabria', home to the magnificent Riace Bronzes. These ancient Greek sculptures, dating back to the 5th century BC, are a true testament to the artistry of the time.
🥘 Local Flavors and Stamps Before departing, we indulged in local delicacies at a charming restaurant and added another stamp to our Pilgrim's Passport-a tangible memory of our visit.
🌊 Setting Sail for Lipari By noon, we left Reggio Calabria behind, heading towards the island of Lipari. The sea was calm, with Stromboli’s smoky puffs visible on the horizon, guiding us to our next destination.
🌅 Lipari Arrival As the sun set, we anchored at the picturesque Marina Corta in Lipari. The beauty of the island was not lost on our artist of the sea, Miguel Angel Ruiz, who captured the moment in his sketchbook. After a day filled with exploration and reflection, we enjoyed a peaceful evening on board.
