I love it. I used it for the first time yesterday. Customer wanted staggered seams so we had to use x clips on all the doubled joists where the seams landed. The edge clips don’t grab the joists super well and tend to fall over when it’s warm, let alone when you have joist tape or bark on the top of the joist. I wonder if they could find the best of both worlds and have little wings on the edge clips too bc when using x clips they can slide off the center of the joist if you’re not super careful. Also, in their manual, when you land on a double or anything other than a standard joist it says to snap off the legs of the edge clip. When you take the legs off they’re useless, and you have to hold them while you push the next board against it and if you let off pressure they all fall out. If you break the legs off they are only good for the ends of your runs and in that case you can just throw them in after the fact. I used x clips instead, they fit just fine in the end of each board on a seam with double joist. I absolutely love the drive tool. So we’ll made and thought out. Love how the extra bit is stored as the quick connect impact adapter at the end and they made the release button for the bottom half to be pressed with said bit! Super slick

Lol good info and funny guy. Love your sound effects. Maybe show ppl what to do if the deck boards are warped and you need to screw the ends down with the plugs like I had to.
I'm very impressed by the Camo gadgets they created and it's great that it works with most of the composite brands. But I've heard (through my research, I don't have a deck yet) that some companies have it in their warranty that you have to use their fasteners and/or use their tools to install the decking, otherwise your warranty is void. Are you aware of any of the Big composite companies that aren't strict like that?
All the big guys like to try and scare you into using their fasteners. But they will all still warranty their boards for anything not fastener related...fading, staining, structural...as long as the structural failure isn't a result of the fastener. Camo will cover the fastener warranty.
I would say both. The Camo Drive tool is likely more of a professional add on as it costs $200, but even without it, these clips are the most DIY friendly option out there.
Like to have a 5/16" gap instead of a 3/16" gap? I suppose if you used a 5/16" spacer it could potentially work - but I can't guarantee you wouldn't have future movement because the gusset wouldn't be biting as much of the groove.

Except when you have an entire deck laid out with all those screws sticking up, you're bound to step on one or bend it over and then the leg breaks off the clip, and anal retentive homeowner says "why does that one look different?".
