Introducing ‘Overture’, the latest epic collaboration from Camo & Krooked and Mefjus.
Rich in emotion, dynamic in drama, raw in that beautiful post-lockdown energy we’re all sharing right now: ‘Overture’ is an exhilarating slice of drum & bass built up around one arpeggio, a yearning vocal sample and an ever-mutating bass groove.
It’s already been a massive outro in all of the Austrian headliner trio’s biggest sets. Now it’s a massive intro to one of their biggest and most ambitious projects to date - their own label MODUS, on which everything they create together will be released from here.
Setting the scene and hinting at the levels to follow, ‘Overture’ is the latest in a long run of collaborative releases that date back to ‘Mandala’ in 2017. It’s their first collaboration of 2022 and follows a whole slew of victories at the Drum&BassArena Awards in December, including Best Track for last year’s ‘Sientelo’.
Plenty more is set to follow as the trio continue to explore their unique creative process and promise to never follow the same path or use the same solution twice… Both as a producers and now as label owners with MODUS.
2022 is going to be another huge year for one of the scene’s most high profile collaborative teams. Just as it does in the orchestra, it’s the ‘Overture’ that kicks everything off.
