Here in Missouri you have to have any bait out 10 days before you can hunt the area. We also can not have any salt or minerals that have any food flavoring in it such as acorns or apple flavoring.

dheller777 Are you from NY ? I’m from NY. If you hunt where they have Mountain lions (that the DEC didn’t reintroduce 😉😉😉). You can have cameras in the woods for three weeks and maybe a doe or a buck. Put some homemade attractant out and you’ll have bucks on camera and maybe a doe. There is barely any doe’s or small bucks in the woods where I hunt. My thinking is the larger racks are seen as a threat to the cat so he leaves them alone. Before cats where seen here you would see 8-10 doe walking around together, you would see them same time everyday. Now 1 or 2 with one fawn and you won’t see them for 3-5 days later. There are barely any deer in the county I’m in and the DEC still gives out doe permits. Almost like there trying to get rid of them completely. I’m 47. 90% of the people I grew up with that hunted will not give the state money for hunting licenses any more. I have a lifetime license if not I wouldn’t give the state any money. Most of the state land in this county is now for hikers only. Most of the hikers come up from NYC and leave all their trash in the woods.

Normal food dye is exactly how they color popcorn kernels. Ever seen those? It's pretty common. Just mix whatever food dyes together until you get a dark green.
