Great video guys! Lots of point you guys brought up that we couldn’t agree more on! The deer camp stories are so special! There is stories that we’ve heard 1000 times but you know you still are just as excited to hear it that 1001th time. looking forward to the next part!!
Great video, Benny!! Like the setting around and talking about camp and the stories. The one fellow mentioned about using cellphones at camp and scrolling, and the other fellow mentioned the 2-way radios, and now using the cellphones to keep in contact. When we go for our weeklong trip to the NF for our buck season, the one thing I love about it is that there is no cellphone service where we hunt. So, the only time the cellphone is used is for recording videos or marking where our hunting spots are on the mapping app. Even on top of the mountain where we hunt, there is no cellphone service. We love going to deer camp, and when we had the campsite leased, we would go every month in the summer to cut the grass and air out the bus and the campers. Of course, if you have followed our channel, you know we no longer have that site. So now our deer camp is mobile, but we still call it deer camp and we still hunt the mountain where I have hunted for over 40 years plus. I create mock scrapes in many spots on my property. I have probably 6-7. I hang a vine right over their trails or hubs and they come to them all the time. I use for my deer inventory every year. It’s fun, cheap, and easy!
Love seeing this. I had a lot of years in our hunting camp in Perkins, north of Gladstone with my dad, uncle and cousins.. lost dad in 2018 and my uncle sold the cabin about 2 years ago.. brings back a lot of memories and emotions watching you guys. @@campbenny Still holding on with my boys, have a 15, 11, 9 and 3 y/o who is up and coming hunting our 80 here in Osceola county. 15 year old and 11 year old both scored this year!
This is pretty cool, sharing personal experiences, traditional deer camps are where it’s at. So much has changed for me over the years. Happy to hear you guys and the young guys being excited about it. Gives me hope for the future of the sport!
