I know this is over a year old now but... you can usually drill or pry that little nib inside the security torx head until it's totally gone or taken down enough that a regular torx wrench can be inserted with good engagement. Also works for allen/hex bolt heads.

It’s the keylock design that is the one that prevents everything from getting hung up. Most wire gates still use the old and inconvenient notch design on the nose of the carabiner.
