What a group of interesting friends. Speedo man, Tim the Rockstar and Andy the barrel whisperer. And then Kevin the man who put it all together. 2014 you got me back into camping with happy camper. Thank you for all the books and the routes. You truly are a gem of Ontario. Thank you Kevin.

over the years I have found that Equisetum makes the best pot scrubber. I have been told it has silica in the cell walls. It is easy to find in riparian areas.

canoeing with a dog is great fun. My 65 lb. black lab loves it. Much of the time she sits on one side of the canoe until she gets board or thirsty then she moves to the other side of the canoe. She keeps my wife and I on our toes balancing the canoe. So far she has not jumped out while under way. :)

Kevin, What do you do with the grass, pine needles, or moss when you have finished washing the dishes? I would wonder about attracting animals with the contents on the discarded "natural scrubbers" as I'll call them. Thanks! Love your films!

My father and I always use Dr. Bronner's biodegradable soap on our trips. How do you feel about that brand?

I'm still a bit unclear on how you're doing dishes. Am I correct in understanding that you have a large container of warm soapy water to scrub your dishes in, and then you spread the dishes out and rinse them with hot, boiled water? Won't the bottom of the containers get dirty since they've been sitting on the ground and contaminate each other when you pack them back up? And you don't need to dispose of the rinse water in a hole / fire pit because it's diluted enough? How about when you get the water for dish water and rinse water? Is it okay to dip a slightly dirty container in the lake just for fetching the water? How do you do dishes when they're not too greasy? When I'm lazy I just wipe things up with paper towel and call it a day... Lastly, how do you know that there's no fecal residue on your moss? I find that everyone does dishes completely differently and I wish that there's a clear method to do dishes that's safe, low impact, and efficient.

Here's my .02 on bacon when camping never ever bring bacon unless you want a visit from a bear or wild cat even if you bury the grease they still can smell it you ever have a bear in your camp site ? and they are conditioned to return ask me how i know.
