Not at all. They were 100% of their time. Being waaaaay ahead would have meant that they would fit into the current era of robotrash. The early to mid 90s was a beautiful time for hip hop.
Facts!! I remember talking about these dudes @ the barber shop back in the day & cats was hating big time. It was something different & needed @ the same time from the norm. Always was a fan
They weren’t ahead of their time at all. They were an odd mixture of 70s blaxploitation in the 90s, and they were nowhere near appreciated as much as much as they should have been. I remember bein’ in third grade when the Luchini video came on back when Joe Clair hosted it, and it completely mesmerized me. My dad got the single on cassette for me.
Im gonna say it!!!! Camp Lo wasnt ur ordinary Hip-Hop duo group!! Oh no!! Their musical talent quickly gained notoriety & their music flows like no one ever before seen!!
I'm looking at all the comments on this that are positive and let me just say y'all are "damn skippy"!! This song was way before it's time, This song does blow anything off the radio today, as somebody said about style and slang... This generation has no clue on what good music is... Y'all please help me, raise a toast... Luchini forever and on and on ❤️
Really? Lover's Ghetto by Angie Stone. As Long As You Come Home by Brooke Valentine. Adventure's In The Land Of Music...Original.....by Dynasty. All different versions done over they ears.
To bad hip hop music right now doesn't sound this good anymore because this song is a classic and Camp Lo to me deserves more credit as MC's on the mic. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017 to find me.
