Well said. Basic common sense, it's worth its weight in gold! Great video Peter. The Notepad is a great idea. Enjoy all the elements of your time out there and hope you need a bigger container!
Thanks man..... I need one of those trackers......I leave the vehicle, climb a mountain, walk a wash, run up a creek and then realize dang I'm in the desert 10 miles away from my vehicle and it's almost dark....Where the hell am I ? ....Thanks for your videos brother !!!!!!!!
Gidday MannyScoot, I spend a lot of time out bush by myself and at times with Mrs T comes along, being prepared and safety is a priority, to late when the shit hits the fan so to speak, gear is not that expensive these days and not much weight to carry. Hope the gold gods are smiling on you. Cheers Peter T
One important thing is a good 20x or 40x monocle (or bino's) to see wtf is around, and ahead of you. Thinking ahead ensures a safer journey. Those sat systems are pretty neat btw. I didn't know they're cheaper than mobile phones and phone plans! I always carried a ridiculously long boom antenna to try and get a regular mobile signal out of because I thought those sat phones were thousands. SMS is better than text, too, tbh. You can think your message through.
Good onya mate im 72 and like to get out abit when i got permmistion that is and that's what it's all about having fun and every day you wake up is a Bonus
Thank's for the information.. Preparing a trip from Denmark to WA. Sep. 2018, and stay for 3-4 month. Buy a good Detector, A 4x4 (home), and SafetyGear, + what ever needed. Read a lot, learn a lot (i hope) , and wanna be prepared for a great time, se the nature, talk around camp fire, Just enjoy the Best of WA. And .. Maby find a Nugget or 2.. Iam a Wiking from Denmark, and for safety reasens, i would like to (team up), with another 4x4 prospector. Greetings from far North. Nils. (Hopefully a new prospector), with a lot to learn..
Hi Nils, Your in for a great adventure, Be aware that four months from September will be taking you into some very hot weather ( Nov- Dec) particularly if intend to head to the north of the state, I would consider starting at a couple of months earlier if possible, Minelab detectors - SDC2300, GPX 4500, GPX 5000 & GPZ7000 models are proven and most popular detectors. BE aware there are a lot of Chinese fakes / copys about particularly on on line sites. buying from a dealer when get here good idea most will have secondhand machines with warranty at considerable savings, a couple of a suggestions/ websites you can check out and contact. Finders Keepers in Kalgoorlie, www.finderskeepersgold.com - Reeds Prospecting Supplies in Perth. www.readsprospecting.com.au . A great idea would be to do a training course, generally run over a couple of days and give you all the information you will need to get you up to date on prospecting regulations, places to go, machine settings and possible even a nugget or two during training.. Tony and Lisa at Lenora are the ones I would do it with www.goldtalkleonora.com.au check there web site, right in good gold country to. I don't have any connection to those I have suggested as contacts only have dealt with them and found then to be good or and heard good ongoing comments from others. The WA government site www.dmp.wa.gov.au/prospectingwa Hope this is of some help. Cheers. Peter T
