For any RV you have to keep water out of it. You can fix anything on an RV: frame, axles, brakes, appliances, wiring, etc.. But once it has water damage on a fibreglass laminate RV, it is extremely difficult to fix since it has to be done from the interior. I have never seen a repair on a water damaged fibreglass laminate RV look good from the outside. With an aluminum sided RV, you can remove the aluminum siding, fix it up from the outside without disturbing the interior. Once back together, you cannot tell from the outside. Someone mentioned Forest River RV's as poorly built. They all are. Keystone, Jayco, Dutchmen, etc. Not well built at all. Enjoying the J.C. Smith videos and channel from Canada.
Im like you ....im so much more confident with metal work because i know if i mess up a little bit on a cut i can weld in a piece most times and all but hide my mistake .the wife and i are doing all kinds of home improvements and slowly but surely i am getting more confident with the wood working !!! In my opinion you are way better off with an older camper like you have there , 2 of my buddies got brand new super expensive campers last year and i was totally disgusted with the quality of a brand new product . Both of their brand new campers were in multiple times for leaks , no ac , no hot water and all kinds of other problems . Im sorry but i couldnt bring myself to buy what they are selling new even if i had the extra money for one!!! Great job it looks great
Campers are al ways leaking around pull outs and thefirst to go as wind drives rain ito where you don't want them You are making greater fix than th originals
Luv your videos. Hopefully this isn’t out of line but I’m noticing that your garage seems a lot bigger than just the bays you use. Can we get a full tour of the building and why you only use the small portion of it. Thank you
I guess light weight and cheap doesn’t give you a lot to work with in campers. I bought a 42’ coach that is over 20 years old and was very well built by one of the Oregon coach builders. All the solid cherry wood and 3/4” marine grade plywood is holding up great, but it does weigh a lot. I think I’m close to 45,000 lbs empty.
Shout out to mrs ( lady ) jc smith the world's greatest detailr/ interior cleaner for insuring you did not get caught with any saw dust on your hudy on camera 😂😂😂
I'm not watching this until the title is changed from cheap to well thought cost effective. Then I can see if it was done right or with the HF camper repair kit.
