If you wire into the reverse lights you’ll only have the camera on when in reverse. With it being a van it might be useful to have it in an ignition live so that you can use it as a rear view mirror anytime you’re driving?

I have been advised to wire mine into the cigarette lighter with a switch. That way I can use it as a rear view and not just a reverse cam. With the choice of turning off as and when I choose.

There’s many YT videos on it, but sorting out condensation, so insulation with a vapour barrier.

You might want to look at them scotch locks connectors again mate and sort the exposed wires, if they touch anything then they’ll probably short!

Please trim the wire in the block that is sticking out. Would also be best to wrap some insulation tape around them as well.

Hey guys well done for getting stuck in. I would recommend a plastic trim kit. Very handy for removing plastics and trim as your screw driver is scratching up your metal 👍

Not sure if you intend fitting a heater or onboard water/grey waste? But best planned and prepped before fitting floor/wall board and insulation. Same for any electrics you might be considering. Auxiliary battery or inverter for example, lights and sockets. Get em all planned and first fixed before boarding out. 👍

I suspect this is not going to be welcome but I've been looking for a while at doing something like this although from a safety point of view I'm anxious about removing the bulkhead entirely. The van itself would not be materially weakened although the forces released in any front end impact, even at 25mph, are horrendous and having large bits of the rear fixtures and fittings coming free to make their way forward scares the life out of me.

It's worth putting a lick of paint on the holes that you've drilled to stop them from rusting. Loving the updates though. Keep up the good work dude! 👍

Don't get too comfy in a luxurious van! I've got 3 or 4 8x4 sheets of 25mm kingspan insulation spare from my own campervan build that you're more than welcome to, it's made such a difference to my Peugeot Boxer. I bought a lot more than I needed and it's just cluttering up my workshop. I'm not that far from you, send me a message if you want them!

How to get rid of wart on end of thumb - drill metal then pick it up. Had ward on contact part of thumb, GPs and chemists tried all sorts of treatments and it kept growing back. Hot metal - and it's been gone for 5 years

Don't screw the batons down for the floor. Stick them down with Bond and Seal. Then screw floor to batons. No screw holes through the floor that way.
