Totally Andrew and the benefit of having a pristine cassette at the end of your stay before the caravan might be going back in to storage. I think these would be so popular now more than ever with so many sites not reopening their facilities and encouraging guests to use on board facilities instead. Thanks for watching
We were really impressed. I think it's great if the price is reasonable. As I mentioned the previous site we were on were charging £4. Worse still they had stuck the new price on with paper and tape over the old preprinted price of £2 which the manufactures of the machine obviously put on it when installing. I would use regularly at a sensible price and definitely before caravan going back in to storage. Thanks for watching
Hi Dan, I've heard of them but never come across one on sites we've stayed at. I'd try it at £2. Thetford had their own cassette cleaner called 'Thetford machine' There is a statement on their website saying they terminated the use of them at the end of 2018 due to lack of use. Thanks for the video. Rob
Thanks for the info Rob. Searching around I had seen something about a Thetford version and wondered what had happened. £2 is a brilliant price point to get interest and I think the recommended manufacturers price. Unfortunately on a previous site it had been covered over and upped to £4 in pen. Bit naughty really as probably not necessary. I thought this was a great bit of kit and was my last port of call before towing home and putting caravan back in storage, happy in the knowledge of clean cassette and no smells.
Smart bit of kit and works really well. I was eager to try it once I knew it was on site. Won me over and I don't actually mind the job of emptying it manually, it's just has to be done, but with this the added bonus is it's washed out thoroughly and dosed with chemicals. Thanks for watching
Yes, at the previous site we stayed on it was £4. I think that’s just making money and ripping people off. The machines look as though they are preprinted with £2 as this is a sensible price the manufacturers recommend charging. The site we were staying on had stuck over a piece of paper with tape marked at £4. Really not on and needless to say, I didn’t use. Thanks for watching.
Useful machine. Maybe with one of those on a site we visit I might even got out of the job of emptying the cassette. By the way who was doing the dance in the reflection on the machine, perhaps we can see it in front of the camera next time.
It certainly wasn't me! I'm firmly in the realms of embarrassing dad dancing now. It was my 8yo daughter Tilly, who you see in several of our vlogs. She also has her own pickle channel called Tillybiz.
It’s a smart bit of kit for sure and I appreciate not everyone would use it. I think at £2 it was reasonable and I certainly refused to pay the £4 at our previous site. I can see the main advantage in using for the last empty before journey home and maybe caravan going in to storage, so the cassette is as clean as can be. Thanks for watching.
reasonable price, as we only have the need to empty once over a weekend. Though, can probably do it quicker. The future of chemical toilet points i guess
I think there lots of pros for both site staff and visitors and at a reasonable price would be used. But yes quicker to empty yourself but I see it as a good idea to use especially if your vehicle is going back in to storage as you know it’s nice and clean if leaving it for any amount of time. Ultimately it’s about choice. I probably wouldn’t use it every time but like having the option. Thanks for watching.
