Lithium is so cheap now I'm looking at double my capacity to 600ah but it's difficult to charge that kinda battery bank in a reasonable amount of time. Its made me start to think about more exotic methods of charging like using EV points or a secondary alternator.
Yes...ev points are something I think alot of people are looking into and want to use. A second alternator is a fair amount of work to fit plus £500 or so to buy and fit... I don't think it will be long before ev charging will be the norm 🤞👀
@@FreedomStrider True but when I hear about campervans in the US with stuff like The Volta Power System being able to run Air Con all night and charge quickly after a drive I'm so jealous.
I struggled to size my system, it is so hard to know exactly how long you use some appliances for. Thanks for all the extra questions you answered, it really helped.
Polly… “what batteries “ 😂 900 and something 🎉, just to add to this, with the ac charger, you can use any car 12v charger to charge lifepo4 , and then just add multiple chargers to the same battery. Basically keep what you have and just add to it.. your BMS will take care of it. My 100ah lithium I use 3 old 5amp car chargers (15amps) My bigger lithium I have a 20amp charger.. but I’m always looking to add another old charger off Facebook marketplace..😊
Adding multiple AC chargers, not something we thought of! Onto marketplace we go...! We rarely use ac charging but when we do, charging them faster would be nice...especially with the bigger capacity 👀
