@@opkaskun you need to beat skeletron to get the wiring from the mechanic edit: you can technically, if you're lucky, line it up with wiring that was created by world gen, but that's not really practical

Fuel is based on the FrameY value of the "fuel" tile. The larger the FrameY, the better it works as "fuel". Effectively, the game checks _only_ the Fuel tile when figuring out if it should change the FrameY sprite value of the entire 3x2 area. And, there's two conditions- 1.) If FrameY > 32=, decrease FrameY by 32. 2.) IF FrameY < 32, increase FrameY by 32. We take advantage of this first condition, by keeping the FrameY value of the "fuel" tile above 32 (by giving it something like Sandstone Lamp with a FrameY value of 2052), and then feeding it something like a Wooden Door with a FrameY value of 0. This, then, causes very weird things to happen as the game blindly decreases the door's frameY value to negative values, as it's trying to get the "fuel" tile's FrameY value to 0. And if our fuel tile _does_ hit 0, we can just give it a new lamp, resetting it to 2052 pixels, and keep decreasing it. This will be explained in more detail in the comprehensive transmutation guide which I'm working on and _hoping_ to have out either his week or next week. We'll see!

Hrmm, to get ID 603 it's probably easier to use Philo from doors- It's on the edge of the range you can normally get but I think with some fiddling with CGO on doors it should work. I'll need to check that behaviour, I haven't seen CGO go backwards in large intervals before. Are you making sure to give the campfire sufficient fuel, by the way? Only think I could perhaps think of, besides there being some other odd behaviour I'm missing.

Start with a Steampunk door. If you need a Steampunk door, start with a Granite or Marble door and use CGO on it until you get what you're looking for it. (Tutorial here- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dRZ17fenccU.html )

It should, and honestly I like "COG" better, because it's like a cog in a machine, but people are immature and kept going "hehe, cog sounds like c**k". So, it got switched to "Campfire Glitch Offsetting", even though it's clunkier.

You can, but there's a limited range of items you can get. CGO is most useful with fuel for the purposes of obtaining items. There's a fuel-less setup that I became aware of recently but setting it up is _considerably_ more complicated.

Hrrmm, is the top of the campfire partially invisible via the Bast? That shows that you successfully set up the glitch.

@@pancakes8039 There should be a little bit of the top which is glitched out- with the top-right tile still showing as a campfire, and the middle tile displaying as a music box.

Did you place a new Sandstone lamp? Effectively, some lamps have more "fuel" to give than others- Sandstone lamps have plenty of fuel to burn. Another handy trick is breaking the bottom tile, as this should return the Sandstone lamp so you can easily "re-fuel" with the same lamp. As a rule of thumb, the later it was added to the game, the more fuel it has to burn. (As it lives lower-down in the spritesheet. So, Bamboo, Desert, Coral, and Ashwood all have super good burn times.) Hope this helps^^!

Either way, I've found the door variation of this glitch more efficient, but maybe as you've been suggesting, I've been using the wrong variations of the lamp the entire time The ebonwood door has tons of fuel (just as a side note) whereas the normal wooden door can be useful in speedruns in terms of providing the speedrunner with the terra blade. You're probably in Multiplayer- To do the method outlined in the video, you need to be in Singleplayer.

That has to do with the way Console stores sprites- It should be functionally identical despite the visual differences, if it works like how the Mobile versions does. You need to place things one tile away from the campfire, i.e. one tile of air, then you place your fuel. Placing anything directly next to the Campfire will cause it to break, much like the Bast, hence why it needs to be placed with a one-tile gap. Hope this helps^^!

Here is some useful information I found that placing a door (I used shaded door specifically) before placing campfire directly next to campfire then placing campfire then turning on bast statue and activating campfire turned my door into a temple door that required a key and breaking the tiki torch destroyed the door along with the 2 hat blocks above it and 1 block below it the door broke but not actually only in a way that let me get unlimited shaded doors it took me a bit of random messing around with the campfire but I was eventually able to get rid of the door also the even though I broke the hat blocks around the statue with the glitch I found it still seems to be working im not sure how

@@davidbrundage2570 I think I know what you ran into- When you offset doors, they can delete tiles without block updating them. Using this to intentionally make block update-resist Bast Statues has been coined "Stabilized Bast Statue", and it's something I should probably cover in that Philo setup guide. Also, you can make "black holes", which spew out items every time you block update them. Which, I think is where the unlimited doors came from. Another fun thing that comes out of the Campfire Glitch!

​@@EthyrielY I think another possible issue after some more testing is that I can cycle through items with the torches but changing doors doesn't seem to change that cycle and also because of what happened with the "stable head" I can no longer place a door directly next to the campfire which now doesn't allow me to cycle the steam punk door to get zenus but I don't want to ruin the philosopher stone glitch by placing a block near the head in order to place a door not sure if that makes sense but yeah I'll keep testing thanks for the helpful replys by the way

I actually entirely forget. I tested this awhile ago and I think the answer was "Kindov, but it doesn't do anything interesting." But I'll add that to my "List of things to try breaking next" and see what comes of it!

the cause is glitched torches. also using cheat sheet to remove a glitched torch caused the torch god event even though there are nowhere near enough torches

Interesting- Playing around with mods is definitely something on my to-do list, probably after 1.4.5. I'll need to give torches a try!

@@EthyrielY So I'm guessing that Terraria gets item id using a 2D array of [x][y] (if you don't code think of this as rows of x columns of y), so the "bottom" of the column is at index [x][0], when you go "down" from here it goes to [x][-1] THIS IS BAD, WE NEVER WANT TO DO THIS. In theory this would put us at [x-1][35], if terraria indexes memory for the entire array without break. Whenever you seem to go "down" from here in tmodloader and it tries to get to [x][-1] it cannot access the correct memory for the id, and throws out unexpected results. whenever you do something like indexing [x][-1] you have to expect unexpected results, it just happens that base game terraria it works the way you think it should.

oh yeah and I just remembered base game terraria is 32 bit while tmodloader is 64 bit that could be the reason behind why you get different results from each version, 32 bit and 64 bit can produce different unexpected results

Kindov. There's some different Transmutation glitches you can perform in versions prior to 1.4 but those need an entire tutorial series due to how different they are to these methods.

It does! Out of all three guides this one is the least outdated- the setup for the Campfire Glitch itself hasn't changed, its just that Philosopher's Stone setups have gotten more streamlined.

Rod of Discord can be obtained more easily using a Bast Statue and a door. Start from a Palm Wood Door to get the Rod of Discord; or, if you want to get fancy and get a Rod of Harmony, start from a Mushroom door.

Here's the lore for you: Much of this started with a de-sync glitched called "Torch Storage", which led to some very early furniture Transmutations. (This whole arc happened during a Multiplayer playthrough where we had extra time due to staggered boss progression.) The first item transmutation was a Soul of Sight, after someone posted a glitch world seed on Reddit which basically had a naturally-generated Prong Glitch. (And the Prong Glitch itself was derived from there). After that, several months of shenanigans led to two years of educated guesswork and more experimentation led to modern Transmutation.

Transparent UI, or something along those lines. Been ages since I installed it, heh.

So, that's actually the Black Hole glitch! It can actually obtain some interesting items, like hallow gear, it just takes awhile. It can also dupe several hundred times per-second, which gets out of hand very quickly with unstackable items. If you're looking for specific items, I'd recommend using Philsohper's Stone- Guides for that can be found in the Transmutation Playlist. (Should be the first link in the description.) Stumbling upon the ability to transmute chests (Golden Chest -> Solar Chest) during a playthrough, followed by lots and lots and lots of trial and error to try and get Zenith early. Things kinda went off the rails from there.

I do think that the Campfire Glitch is the most powerful glitch, out of all of Transmutation. After publishing this there's several updated methods of performing this glitch which are 1.) Fuel-less 2.) Even faster 3.) Drop items automatically rather than requiring torches to be broken 4.) Make you (partially) invincible 5.) Break space-time So... I've still got alot to cover lol

On the far left column, where there's all the doors, the Campfire glitches moves us going "up" the shreadsheet- Effectively, if we start "below" our destination, the Campfire glitch allows us to get there eventually. To be honest, the method in this video was outdated about 48 hours after I published it XD I've got a new guide in the works which is going to be published "Eventually :tm: ", since new stuff is getting discovered faster than I can add it to the comprehensive guide!

It is entirely possible on console, with the setup being slightly different. Rather than being able to use "Host and Play", you instead need to connect to someone else's game. You cannot be the host when setting up these glitches otherwise it won't work.
