This is SFOO's trip to Alexander Springs in the Ocala National Forest. This trip includes our camp setup and happenings, as well as our underwater exploration of Alexander Springs and the day-use area.
I love that tent, that’s got style. I to a big angus a few years ago with the led lighting, it’s a huge help. It is a huge tent for one person, but I can put it up & down myself. I had a bear peek in a few weeks ago at Watkins glen in nys. What a thrill that was. The palm trees in the campground are hilarious. I may have to put it on my to do list. My sister lives down there so I can work something out. That’s a great setup in your tent. I’m retired military & we slept on those cots, & they are comfy, lemme tell you. I put my sleeping bag pad & bag on it & slept like baby. I need to get one. I still have my sleeping bag, the ones they today are one thin layer underneath & the air pad, I tried them out, & for a $290.00 pair, I slept miserably. It was so uncomfortable. I sent them back & as supply sergeant, & turning in the ww2 field gear, to warehouse & replace with the new 3 piece sleeping systems, I kept mine. I am small, so I have plenty of room in it. I’ve never been cold in it. & we’ve been in some pretty cold, wet temps up in Massachusetts. That water is spectacular! Wow!is it ice cold? I like your gear, it gave me great ideas. The French press..
The water is 72 degrees year round. This trip was actually supposed to be winter weather cold and I was gonna jump in the water. But it became 80 something the week of haha. The cots are awesome and one of the best things we have in our pack. And that French press is so much better than any percolator.
Another thing to of have been glad you DID NOT SEE WAS ANY WATER MOCCASINS ( poisonous water snakes ) silver springs and walkula springs are both Very Beautiful places as well both used to have GLASS BOTTOM BOAT RIDES JUST SOMETHING TO LOOK UP AND LOOK INTO. I LOVE THE FACT THAT YOU CONVERSAT DURING THE MOVIE WHILE ALSO NARRIATING IT AS WELL.. EXXXCELENT JOB
Exactly! Kills me that these companies are making so much money off of this. But I try to just preserve and highlight. It's meant to be enjoyed and protected.
@@user-kk8rb2px6y we most definitely are. 3 hours or so from mountains, 5 hours from driving NC beaches, 3 hours from Amelia Island, six hours from Ocala National Forest, six hours to Windrock in TN. Could not be more fortunate. We love it.

Honestly, it started as a joke. I watched a lot of the Dukes of Hazzard and appreciated his narration style. I know several languages and my accent can change very naturally based on who I speak to. But I grew up in South Georgia and sound very country on the regular. But for consistency's sake - not a good practice 😂. Could be considered fake. But I appreciate you watching and I'm glad you enjoyed. This is one of our favorite places so far.
So I just checked Academy Outdoors and I don't see it any longer. Was trying to find you a link. The Gazelle T4 is what it was modeled after, and it's actually what we use now. Plenty of room to stand up. I'm 5'6 and can almost stretch my hands upwards.
While camping are you guaranteed access into the spring and allowed first access? Or do you need to pay to get into the spring and wait with other people visiting?
Haha short indeed. I use GMRS on the trail with folks who are not licensed in amateur radio. It tends to be the medium of choice. GMRS is used very heavily in Colorado also, and I had the pleasure of speaking to some really nice folks when I've gone out there. I'd call 17 foot short compared to my 134 foot long wire at the house lol
Not from this area. It is popular for a lot of kayak fishermen. There is a kayak/ canoe drop in, and you can explore the rest of the area. We just went to the day use area mainly used for scuba and swimming.
I don't have the address but here is the site on Recreation.gov to make reservations. www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/234032#:~:text=Alexander%20Springs%20Recreation%20Area%20is,hiking%2C%20birding%20and%20wildlife%20viewing.
