Camping at Lakeport State Park with fellow Roadtrekers

We spent a wonderful few days camping at Lakeport State Park north of Port Huron, Michigan, with a group of fellow Roadtrek owners. It was a great way to take advantage of our remote work opportunities during the day and visit with friends over the campfire in the evening. And, big surprise, Jessi found ice cream nearby! 😄

I was very impressed with Jessi dropping the Geology Knowledge! Those folding / lounge chairs you were sitting in by the campfire looked very sturdy...⛺🙂

Jessi said thanks for being impressed. 😀 We really like our GCI Kickback Rockers. They're comfortable, sturdy and fold up nicely to fit in our van!

Lakeport looks like a really nice state park. We love state parks. Rock hunting is fun. I found a few Petosky stones when I visited my cousin at their cabin in Traverse City. Cool to see all those Roadtreks there. That would be a fun meet-up. Enjoying your videos. Thanks for sharing.

When we did our Michigan State Parks project, we found there is a state park for just about everyone because they are so diverse across the state. Petoskey stones are always fun to find. Have you tried to find the new Yooperlites with a UV flashlight? We did some hunting for those in the Porcupine Mountains and got lucky on our first attempt! I’ve never been to that state park...will have to do a day visit there. It’s after the fact, but next year you should check out Pinckney Recreation Area, Bruin Lake Campground the last week of September. It’s quit Halloweeny. 🎃👻 even for old people like me🤪. Great job as always.

Thanks for the tip. We enjoyed VanRiper's Halloween activities last year, but Pinckney is much closer to our sticks and bricks base!

@@Trekers there are sites that go NUTS at the Bruin Lake SP for the Halloween Havoc weekend (last weekend of Sept every year). It beats Brighton SP in my opinion for the amount of setup people do. Great time for everyone.

And who found ice cream, I don't think it was we I think it was Jessi. It looks like I'll be going full time here in a few months, I closing on the sale of my house on Wednesday then I'll buy a motor home in the winter, it's that cheapskate in me that wants to pay bottom dollar. Keep the good stuff coming.
