Thanks for the nice review. It's a nice park for it's location for us. Being big birders, it's excellent in Fall for migration; especially raptor migration. The park is so different compared to other Michigan State Parks because it's so new. The campground used to be up-front and was quite outdated I'm told. They upgraded everything not all that long ago. Someday there will be more trees surrounding some of the sites! The other thing we love about this park is the extensive bike (multi-use) paths throughout. One of the longest systems in a park we've camped at so far. If you are interested, the two water birds you were looking at around the 3min mark looked to be a Great Blue Heron and then a Great Egret.
It’s a nice Michigan State Park I like about 1/2 hour away I’ve used the day beach many many times every year.. My grandson (10yr) & I just tented there for a couple days this week…during mid-week They cleaned the rest rooms at least 2x a day… He loves to fish & bike…. Let’s say he wore himself out and slept in the car all the way home… GREAT park!!
