This was such a thorough walkthrough on this camp site. Wow I wasn’t expecting for it to be that covered with water from the rain. Good to know! And I love that there is a pool and cabins people are able to rent. Looking forward to your next video.

It really was, considering Bon Echo Provincial Park was so awful/nonexistent with signal.

Black fly season is late May, early June. Once temps rise, they go. Then come deer flies. They are aggressive as they will target you. Swatting them makes them more determined to bite you. Their bites hurt worse than black flies. 😊
@TheAverageTourist
@TheAverageTourist Месяц назад
I think we just experienced deer flies at Wheatley Provincial Park and they were awful! Massive compared to black flies and mosquitoes... there was one that was out to get me and just kept coming back to attack. After that I ran inside the trailer for the night 🤣

the night shots with the fire looks awesome. looks like a lovely place to stay, although i see once again bug spray sounds very important!
@TheAverageTourist

Haha yes, this season we should have bought shares in bug spray companies

There is a municipal boat ramp further downstream at Snow Road Station.
@TheAverageTourist
@TheAverageTourist Месяц назад
Oh good to know!! It was even too difficult to get to the rentals because of the water levels, so next time we'll look that launch up.
@kingstonsean
@kingstonsean Месяц назад
@@TheAverageTourist There's another one even closer on River Road plus a couple more on Crotch Lake, which is part of the same river system.

There's a fantastic, natural, public beach about 12 minutes away at Sand Lake.

It looks still pretty muddy out there! Sorry you got dirty feet. Lot of water there for sure. But it looks like a nice beach, when there is one... All the best

Good video, and what is the attachment your husband has on his hat?
@TheAverageTourist
@TheAverageTourist Месяц назад
Thanks! It's a dragonfly clip. Supposedly, it keeps black flies, deer flies, and horse flies away so they don't bite you!

An add on of prevention, long pants against ticks
@TheAverageTourist
@TheAverageTourist Месяц назад
Yes good tip! I had one this summer, so I have been trying to stay more vigilant - this time I did a thorough tick check after the hike.

i want a camper tour of your trailer , looks like a great size, what are your pros and cons of it ? anything you would change ? if a new addition were to enter your lives would it be large enough to accommodate 1 or 2 more peeps ? Happy Vacations , PS, Just did Silent lake PP and it was amazing , Cheers !
@TheAverageTourist
@TheAverageTourist Месяц назад
I did a tour of it here! If you put the table down it could accommodate a child, but it's not really built in our opinion for more than 1 or 2 people... tight quarters. But great storage! Silent Lake os awesome, we went earlier this year. Happy camping! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jzSle17Zi2Q.html

Do you find the non Ontario Provincial Parks more expensive or comparable because of the amenities?
@TheAverageTourist
@TheAverageTourist Месяц назад
Some are quite expensive compared to Provincial Parks, but this one specifically was pretty comparable and offered a nice pool and water on site. We've looked at a few KOAs and other private Parks and rates sometimes start at $100 a night!

@@TheAverageTourist My latest e-bike was purchased for my wife's birthday, it is foldable and has the fat tires. Purchased with the larger battery and has throttle so no pedaling needed. Taking it camping so we can enjoy the trails, and so far it has gone a long way on the initial charge. Purchased from Amazon.
