Being a girl in an all (5) girl family; I never had the opportunity to camp on the river. Wish I could have!! Canoe trip and all! You have shown me a wonderful life style......beautiful doesn’t come close to describing the scenery. As always thank you for sharing !!
Shawn- Hello from Florida ! I love the way you allow the scenery speak for itself, as well as many of your videos just getting right into you working without all of the explanation and yacking to the camera that others do. I notice the text at the bottom doesn't disturb the silence, or the pleasant, calming accompanied music. Mad post production skills :) I appreciate you; 'tis beauty! 😉😎
This is my favorite video from your Algonquin solo trips . Very nicely done , not to mention the content - those mirror lakes ; wow ! Great music to go with the scenery . Been so busy watching your cabin building vids Shawn , that I almost forgot about all your earlier ones that Iv'e been wanting to check out . Heard about Algonquin many years ago but never knew how beautiful it actually was until watching yours and Joe's vids .
I keep wondering if I should pick up the tempo in case people find them too sleepy, but the softer music just fits the scene to me. I'm glad you like it Mike.
+My Self Reliance (Shawn James) never to slow! Just perfect. People arnt seeing all the work you don't catch on video. Lol. Just post the kms. Anyone who knows paddling knows effort in kms.
What beauty, although it must be cold based on how you are dressed, but I guess the ideal weather came back. Thanks for letting me come along. Brian nearing 76
What a day this must have been...that's quite the distance. I did the Misty-Grassy Bay section last year in August (in the other direction, mind you) and it looked rather different with the lower water levels. So great to see it from your perspective and at this time of year! Thanks for producing and sharing this.
I know, I got lucky! It's so awesome getting out on the water early in the day to experience the great calm, but it's even better when it lasts most of the day. Day 6 was almost the same.
Very unique similarities as to the ocean. Many species can survive both fresh and saltwater including " brackish" types of species. If you get a chance Shawn watch "Sourdough 1977" a great bittersweet documentary of one of the last mountain men trying to survive the growth of the great Alaskan plains and mountains. I think we all share that certain feeling of wanting to be alone with nature some of us longer then others...Aloha and Mahalo for sharing your journeys.
I am preparing for a four season Wilderness Journey. What type of solo canoe would be best for this trip. It will need to carry a good bit of weight/supplies. Also Sir, don't rightly know where the easiest rivers to navigate are, that will take me as far from (so called) civilization as possible. Am retired and the need to experience this is weighting heavy on my Soul. Any guidance would be appreciated. Awesome video. Thank you for sharing...
Superbe !!..les reflets dans l'eau..les rochers..les couchers de soleil...merci .💙....est ce que vous connaissez tous les lacs?.. d'après les cartes.. énorme la quantité !!
SHAWN & OUR CALI where is Our Cali ??? Maybe getting a hair cleaning like all girls like to have done 1st in awhile !!! Love the sounds of the LOONS !!!
Hi Shawn can you please give your thoughts on Bivy tents. I'm typically a 2-3 person 4 season tent user but like the Bivy concept esp solo canoe trips. I really enjoy your vids and watch them many times over. thx!
Thanks for the reminder - I have to get back to each of my videos and add them to the description. They're all from RU-vid library - usually Audionautix or Kevin MacCleod
