I went fishing with my dad and my sisters family on the top of Boulder mountain. We went to several different lakes. We found some fish in a couple of lakes and had a good time.
Leeches rule in the fall but all the standard patterns should produce as well. If you head up top be aware that many of the lakes have died out so you'll likely have to try several to find fish
Haha, well my occupation has little to do with all the free time--- although my employer is pretty good at letting you take time off. The real reason I have plenty of free time on my hands is due to the fact that I'm single----no one to tell me I can't go 8)
TroutHowler well dang, looks like I already messed up my chances by getting married 😂. I love your stuff though, I worked on a ranch near Cody for 2 summers and spent a couple nights in the wind river area each time so watching your videos always brings be back to when life was good and the fishing was easy!
@@jamesiv960 I don't have any single friends left. I know a couple of guys whos wives are very lenient with them going on trips but most of my friends are not so blessed. I got addicted to fun too early I guess---maybe not the most wise choice as far as paths go but I have had a ton of fun. One day I may end up regretting it when there's no one to change my old man diapers but who knows.
what lake where you at if you don't mind my asking... assuming you had to hike into these as the size of the fish and lack of people but please do share that I got a week left in Torrey before I got to back to the PNW
Naming lakes is highly frowned upon, but what the heck. Hopefully you get this reply by tomorrow because i'm going to erase it. The lake in the thumbnail is called Crescent lake. We were camped at Horseshoe lake. Several of the lakes up top died off last winter. Some of the lakes that did not die off are Crescent, Crater, Bess, Pleasant, Surveyors and Raft. I hope this helps--good luck
Couple questions for you I'm taking my family backpacking this weekend for labor day. I usually go up to the Uintas. But I want to take them to the Boulders. Mainly for some good fly fishing. Just wondering how some of the roads are up there or a general area where lakes won't have been winter killed. Don't need excat locations I love to keep those a secret as well. But a general area I can start backpacking and finding lakes with potential. But mainly considerd how the roads are getting there and then start hiking up or any trailheads. Mainly want to get some tigers. I know the DNR has a post of lakes separated in areas like East slope, West slope, North Creek Lakes, North Slope lakes, South Slope lakes, Boulder Top, Escalante Mountain and Griffin Top. Just wondering what are you would recommend and how the roads are.
Well normally I would recommend going to Boulder top like this vide simply because it's absolutely gorgeous country and lots of lakes with various species. However, there was a massive kill off up top during the winter and easy accessible fast fishing lakes that are fun for kids died off. Since you re going to be backpacking the area I would go is different than if you were car camping.
@@edboutdoors3632 Well I actually shouted you out on Uintas trip but I accidentally turned the mic on the camera so there was no sound for the entire trip. I didn't upload the video because there was no sound
