Just wanted to say that the scene in the huge tent when the guys are blowing up the mattresses was really funny, a much needed laugh at plain silliness
I absolutely love your videos you guys. Anytime I feel a little bit down or want something fun to watch I’ll put on one of your adventures and it cheers me up. Thank you for all the work and time you put into these videos! I feel like I’m on the adventure with you.
The knowledge that each of you share is a valuable insight- your adventures are inspiring me to get out and do some day hikes….. I would like to build up my knowledge and skills to do some overnight hikes- I am an advanced camper however I am a novice hiker
Just found your channel while surfing what to watch and I found myself and my husband enjoying watching your videos. Andrew is very knowledgeable about plants, trees, flowers, mushrooms edible and not edible. Andrew said, in one of their videos that he is an amateur Botanist. You made us learned a lot about plants in all your hikings. Thank you. Andrew, you are so smart remembering all those plants including the Scientific names. We don't hike but still enjoying watching you 4, Andrew, Robby, Bryan and Thomas. Stay safe guys and God bless.
I just found your videos during a search on the Savage Gulf. I’ve hiked there many times but never down into the middle of the gulf. This video plus Robbie’s 40 mile solo video has shown me what I’ve been missing but what I hope to experience soon. You guys are terrific and do such a great job with these. Thank you!
The commentary, editing, dialogue, cinematography, inspiration, education and motivational camaraderie made this a masterpiece imo ! I watched half with my eyes closed and I could see and smell better than any audio book I’ve listened! I hope nothing but the best for you guy’s …. Thank you 🙏
I've watched your stuff for years but never commented and as we know the algo rythyms like comments etc. anyway thanks for inspiring us to get out and commune with our fantastic planet...peace and love
So love your videos! You travel through some amazing places and are very knowledgeable about nature and plants. You guys are so funny! Thank you for sharing. Keep up your amazing hikes and camping trips!! Well done!! 😊
I always enjoy your videos! Particularly when you are filming trails like this one .I have hiked in Savage Gulf many times and will never grow tired of visiting this wonderful area.
Danke Danke Danke Danke...... Danke Danke Danke Danke
I always look forward to your videos, and this was one of the best. There were a couple of laugh-out-loud moments that left me smiling, like Robby's and Bryan's reaction to the mushroom soup. Thanks for taking us along with you on your adventures. Can't wait for the next one.
great job as always lads! I have watched all your videos but I usually don't comment, but I felt compelled to say I found your closing comments very profound and moving. Thanks again 👍
I've been familiar with Eastern Redbud for many years; the trees are extremely fertile and they grow quick. I had no idea the flowers were edible and tasty. PS: great eye to use the inside of a log for a camera angle! Certainly your air mattresses have laughing gas.
Man I'm really loving your videos! Working my way through all of them now! The best way I found to eat lion's mane mushroom is to saute it with butter sprinkle some salt salt and minced garlic then crack some black pepper on it! So good 👏
I was about to make the same comment. I suppose if I knew as much as Andrew about edible plants I would try to eat every edible plant i could and then rationalize why it tastes so awful too lol
Robby seemed like he could hardly watch, while Bryan just stared on in disbelief, I was absolutely dying of laughter, had to rewind it a couple times!!!
Andrew the oil free eating world fries things like that lion manes by constant little water squirts that declare the pan. It would've worked out much better
This reminds me of Ricketts Glen in northern PA. It's a relatively short loop (4-7mi depending on where you start) with over 20 named waterfalls, ranging from around 10' to nearly 100'. A truly spectacular hike, but best hiked on a weekday. It gets quite crowded on weekends.
I love you guys. You are hilarious. Lion's Mane is definitely not for everyone. I think the texture is something like wet paper towel. But it is uber healthy. So eh? Andrew is outliving us all!
I went to greeter falls today! It makes me feel better about not getting to see the amazing parks out west when you guys come check out the ones near my home
It's so weird to see you guys at a park next to my house. Stone door ranger station is a pretty awesome place to camp. Although water is pretty far. I found that out the hard way one time when I had to hike down to greater Falls from an overlook
Great video! I'm a fairly new subscriber, just found your channel within the last few months. Between this and the solo hike in the Savage Gulf I definitely want to try this one! How tall are you guys? Just wondering as those bunks in the cabin looked a little small lol Also that ending... what in the world XD
I really enjoyed your videos and trips through the woods, unforgettable adventures. Andrew are you related to Albert Lin, the archaeologist who made several videos?
I believe that bamboo type stuff is called Giant Cane, used by native Americans to weave into baskets and other objects. It's everywhere around where I live
Yay! The band is almost back together! I love you all. You guys are really cool. I miss Thomas when he's not along. Thomas… You are awesome bro. I am not devious, but I actually kind of like how uncomfortable Thomas gets sometimes. It's real. Thomas… You don't have to be uncomfortable brother. I am very awkward myself and if I was in a video like you guys do I am sure that I would come off the same way. Maybe that's why I did you so much is that I can understand.
I've heard some naysayers spout that it take you guys so long to do a few miles Need to look at the shots alot of back and forth making your actual miles x4
Great episode!!!! I’m concerned about the lack of water on the creeks🫤 a sign of possible developments that have detoured the water feeding the creeks. I’ll be curious to hear what you gifs can finding about that.
I enjoyed this episode. Its nice to include Thomas in his absence. Dont know why Andrew always downing Thomas though. Hope its a brotherly love and not what I am thinking. As for Pepsi. In my country in the Caribbean, Trinidad & Tobago, we prefer Coke and do not like Pepsi, yet certain fast food outlet only offer Pepsi and I drink it reluctantly if I don't feel to take water instead.
There is an initiative in the Cumberlands of Tennessee (VA and KY too) to repopulate and grow the original short leaf pine savannah grasslands of the region. Shortleaf and Longleaf pine savannahs are some of the most species rich habits in north America. You guys hiked past 3 different species of pine plus the hemlock. Just an idea. The amount of views this channel gets is incredible and would love to see people educated on how the environments and ecosystem once looked before European settlers walked North America.
Great episode! I feel like a proud Pappa watching yall discover Savage Gulf!! I've been exploring this area since the late 80's. It's where I learned to repell, rock climb, and hike. To get past the wobble rocks you have to walk like you're drunk. There's still much more amazing things to see just in the South Cumberland State Park system let alone the rest of middle TN. Maybe plan a waterfall trip to Fall Creek Falls and Virgin Falls. Robbie knows Virgin Falls!. 👌 great video once again!
Idk where to start. I loved so dang much about this episode. I literally just watched the video of Robby going there by himself. I stumbled across this channel. It just popped up in my feed. Anyways. I really love love LOVE the energy between these 3. I have watched like 3 episodes a day since I’ve found this. This episode was amazing. I loved the laughing so hard in the tent while trying to blow up the mattresses. It reminded me of being with my friends long ago and have those moments that make life worth living lol you guys have such knowledge and I seriously love your intelligence, patience and authenticity!!! I love that you try the plants and fungi and Robby made me laugh looking like he was gonna barf!! That Unexpected ending was freaking awesome crazy fun!!! There’s nothing about you’re guys work that I don’t like. You guys are extremely more professional and put your work together better than a whole network on tv. I feel like I’m watching something that has a huge production!! I love that you guys always give feedback and appreciation to those who send you stuff! Guess I’m gonna have to check your website for more details. Praying for your travels and look forward to more!! One word of advice. Don’t ever take that bond between you guys for granted. Cherish it!! I miss friends like that!! Life changes so fast sometimes. Hugs
Your channel is so unique in the backpacking community. It's not of the "ultralight" "thru-hiker" variety which is refreshing because most of us aren't thru hikers. I need buddies to hike with. It looks more fun than my solo adventures.
Not sure if you all read all these comments but an update on this place- it’s now the newest state park in TN! The whole of South Cumberland SP was so large and spread out they were having trouble managing it as one so they separated savage gulf (and 733 new acres of land) and made it Savage Gulf State Park!
My kids got me into backpacking 13 years ago and my philosophy was to hike as fast and far as you can, camp, pack up and do it again the next day. Taking my grandson as well as newbies has slowed me down. Watching your awesome videos has taught me to enjoy the journey. I now notice the little things - flowers, bugs, the way trees grow, mushrooms (but not making soup anytime soon), etc. Thanks for posting these and giving me a different perspective on backpacking. ❤️
Guys I was so excited to see you guys were coming to our local park! Our cabin is about 10-15 minutes from The Stone Door and Greeter Falls trail heads. I wish I'd have known we would have loved to join you guys. Collins West and Savage Falls ate still on that side. I believe you can get to Savage Falls from Hobbs Cabin. Come back one day, there still several different parts of the Parks across our Mountain. Feiry Gizzard, Foster Falls and Denny Cove. Thank you guys for the beautiful video of my home ❤️ Very Proud of it
25:40 the music sound reminds me of 80s game soundtracks, I love it. Fantastic experience as usual. A complete show. Time flies when I'm watching the AA's videos, and the post hike meal is a great bonus.
Giant tent, multiple bridges, breathtaking waterfalls accessed by spiral stairs and the BEST backpacking team can only equal an AdventureArchives journey. ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻😎
This looked like a hard trail but I'm sure well worth it. The falls were beautiful. As a musician myself I listen to the music and then realized that two of you wrote the music. Did you actually record voice etc? Great job. As always I look forward to when I have to watch another episode of your show. Thanks so much for sharing. Blessings, Teri Hope and my sweet Lab Maddie.
Another fun watch guys and so well done! Such a beautiful area and your cinematography really showed it off. Props to AA's "fungi" Andrew for persevering with the lion's mane miso soup 🍄🦁 The imagination that goes into the shout-outs is amazing! Give Robby a greenscreen and you never know what's going to happen but you can be sure it will be entertaining! 🤣 You always want to stick around for that post hike meal and shout-outs such a great way to cap off another great adventure! 👍👏
The water situation on day 3 feels like deja vu of Robby's West Virginia solo trip. So glad that you don't have to rely on the lion's mane to keep hydrated.
Yes lads, great to see yous out again. I love spring. New life, growth, a time for change, beauty. I've just been on a 6 day hiking and wildcamping trip. Can't wait to get back out..respect.
Awesome video of a gorgeous place. It's crazy to me how different the water levels were ... compared to when I was there (at the end of March). I couldn't find a safe place to cross to get to Ranger Falls and there was a ton of water near the bridge close to the Sawmill campsites. Great to see y'alls perspective!
Guys, I've been watching your adventures for years, now, and I must comment on the superb growth of your productions. Your photography is spectacular, the editing and musical creation and selection, Andrew's informative sharing of wildflowers and greenery is wonderful. I particularly enjoy the camaraderie that you share with each other and with us. I don't get out much anymore and love the length and scope of your adventures. I feel like I'm a part of your friendship and sharing. Your videos make a difference and I care about each of you. Just wanted to tell you that. I love what you do and look forward to more...
