Back in 1980, my uncle and a buddy went on a long-distance snowmobile trip in Maine. After travelling on a long markerless trail for several hours, they came out of some woods to open space with a hill to their left that had a cabin on top of it, smoke coming from the chimney. They rode up there, knocked, and a lone fellow inside invited them in to warm up & have coffee. They told him they were lost. He asked where they'd come from. When they told him, he said, "Well, for starters, the US is about 30 miles back in the direction you came from. This is New Brunswick." A different time. 🙂

I'm sure RCMP and US Border Patrol were watching on cameras like "hahahaha it's Steve and Crazy Neighbor, everyone come watch!" Legends. Congrats on the million subs.

As a Montanan, this is the closest Steve's been to stealth camping in my backyard.

All I can say here is, Rest In Peace Jess. My condolences to Steve, her family and friends. God bless all of you, including everyone reading this, you are important to this world.

For anyone who is interested, the Dan Smith on that bench grew up and resided at the Chief Mountain Family Ranch in Babb, Montana. He died in 2020. How his family was able to get approval to put a memorial bench there is anyone's guess. The family probably just put it there and no-one has bothered to remove it. He didn't seem to be a prominent figure in any respect as he just drove truck, worked construction, and did cowboy stuff on the family ranch. He died young at 60.

The fact that we’re watching this proves that Steve and Crazy Neighbor survived their camping venture. No bears and no jail time. Love it. Next time I’m in Canada I might have to find that trail lol.

Bear was heading home for the night when he noticed 2 guys hunkered down in his bed. "Dang I forgot my manspray he thought" and so he bunkered down on the bench. Another fantastic video Steve! It's good to bring company while camping in bear country, just bring someone who runs slower than you lol

That border marker is pretty cool, I have seen several like that on the southern border here between California and Mexico but didn’t realize they were on our northern border as well.

Steve you inspired me to do some "stealth" camping on my own although in germany you are allowed to sleep nearly everywhere as long as you don't use a tent. This week I did an overnighter at the beach of the Baltic sea on the island of Usedom right next to the polish border only equipped with a tarp, sleeping mat and sleeping sack. It rained and I got wet and everywhere was sand but it was fun. Thank you.

I cruised the Montana Canada border on Google earth, and I found it. Between Outpost and Pike Lakes. You can see the obelisk on Google earth. Too bad the images didn't get updated the morning Steve slept there. You totally would've seen him. 😄

If i was border patrol watching this live would spewed coffee laughing when Steve told Crazy Neighbor he would go through fence and to throw sleeping bags over fence. 😅

We all know Steve is never going to get in real trouble, but I still enjoy his creative camping trips and his wholesome humor.

That "pretty impressive chunk of rock" is Chief Mountain in Glacier National Park, Montana, USA. A sacred place for the Blackfeet Nation and the gateway to the Belly River Basin, one of the most beautiful places on Earth (imo)!

I thought it might be fun to find this location on Google Maps. Turns out I found that little boarder marker pillar without much trouble! I imagine the reason there wasn’t much in the way of boarder patrol is because that was the Blackfeet Indian reservation on the US side. Technically that’s sovereign land so I imagine the tribal authorities are responsible and not US boarder patrol
