Wow, I know everyone watching appreciates what you go through to help make our day/night that much better. I personally want to thank you immensely for your videos cos your videos help me calm down and inspire me at the same time. My regards to Mandi and the girls. I’m just going to get back to watching the rest of this video in perfect peace and joy. Thank you sir !!!
Your dream of camping full time is probably not that far out of reach. The commentary and editing skills in recent videos I would argue have surpassed some of the big youtube campers. With the subscriber count continuing to climb it may skyrocket soon. Keep up the good work.
I love these videos. Not only are they peaceful, and leave me with a fulfilled feeling, but they're uploaded on a Tuesday, which is a great way to break my week up. Love from Scotland 🥃 🏴
Hello Mr.Kenny, just like to give you little info on those areas where there's misquotos, please wear some good repellent on your skin,I just lost my 27 yr old son to Westnile virus,he loved camping and fishing, thank you,God bless.i really enjoy your videos alot...
I have just found your channel and absolutely love your content. Yes, keep at it, you could easily make a living doing RU-vid full time. I had a slide in Lance truck camper on a Chevy 2500 for a couple of years. It was my absolutely most favorite rig ever. I have a motorhome now and will downsize in the next year or so back to a truck camper possibly. I camp like you do, remote, quiet, and no people except i stick to the West and Southwest. Keep going!!
Weird happenings in a forest:- I was at a company conference at a castle in the UK that had a gorgeous forest nearby. Our boss said “let’s have a walk in the forest” so he and four of us went along - after about 2 hours - the weirdest thing happened - he said “ok guys, let’s go back and I’ll buy you all lunch” - now that was WEIRD. Great video as usual - thanks. Now subscribed.
Hi Kenny, I've only just started watching you're video there are fantastic great sound from the birds.. Sorry to see you're injured yourself keep up the good video.. Love the camper great stuff !!!
My head ached for you. I've hit my slide with my head several times but have never cut myself. I've contemplated adding a pool noodle to the corners when I'm parked and am really thinking about it now. They build those AF slides strong! Hope your scratches recover quickly.
That aluminum was sharp! I will probably do the noodles trick. I would have in the past, but I know myself. I'll lose them within the first few months.
Thanks Kenny, your channel is great! I love to watch them, they help me relax and I sincerely mean that in a good way. Gives me time to escape, and unwind from whatever craziness of the day.
That's awesome to hear. I watch a lot of RU-vid. And sometimes I wish I had a more up-beat personality like the channels I watch.......but if I changed who I am for the videos, it wouldn't be fun anymore. I'm glad people also like watching a chill camping video.
I love watching your videos. When I was a kid, we used to vacation near Grand Rapids, on Big Bass Lake in Cohassett. Like a friend used to say, It's where God goes on vacation.
I found out about you from watching Larry's channel. I'm sure glad I did, both of you are just great guys. I really enjoy watching both of your content. I was laughing as I thought "there's no Bigfoot in those woods, it would have grabbed those great looking ribs!" Gosh you had a bang up time...literally this trip. I'm truly sorry dear, I know you were probably sore the next couple of days. Praying for safe adventures, that'd be a great spot to stay again sometime. I'm serious when I say stay safe and GOD bless.
Awesome video. At the campfire u had me sitting tight just waiting for big foot to pop out. Gosh! Hope y'll b okay. Great job. Thanks for the trip. B safe in u travels.
@@KennyOfAllTrades sometimes it's easy to forget the dangers around u. I once closed the hatch on my daughter's head why'll she was putting bags away at r campsite.
I grew up in Britt just to the southwest of Big Rice Lake. My brother's sister and I would bike to that lake. Would catch Big Northers there. That was in the 70's
St. Louis County is the largest county in Minnesota, so it makes sense that it has the most sightings. Almost 40 years ago, I heard something that made the hair on my neck stand up while I was hunting outside of the Iron Range.
I appreciate you taking the time to post these up. You put a lot of thought into how you present them us and it shows. I find them very peaceful to watch, reminds me of being in the woods when I lived in Michigan many years ago.
New subscriber here. What a really nice campsite and all to yourself! You were talking about Bigfoot. I haven't seen one either but I kinda hope they're out there. I do have a story though. In the summer of 2021 we said to heck with covid and went on a month long road trip to 14 different states visiting Mt Rushmore, Devil's Tower, Yellowstone, Olympic National Forest. While we were in Oregon on the 101 we had trouble finding a campground that wasn't full so we decided to just camp overnight at a trailhead that wound up a densely forested mountain. There was a couple in a red pickup with a camper shell with the same idea so I felt safe. The next morning the red truck was gone but we decided even though it was so secluded we would stay for another night so we didn't pack up and leave. My husband decided to take his drone out and take some pictures of the surrounding forest. Later that night as we were about to go to sleep we decided to look at the photos on his phone he'd taken with the drone . They were just random pics of the forest trees and such. However one of the pictures kinda looked a little different. I didn't notice it but something caught my husband's eye and he enlarged the picture and to our surprise up in a tree on a limb was this creepy wolf like creature staring directly into the drone! We don't know what that thing was but I fully expected it to jump on our van in the middle of the night! I made sure all the windows were up and doors locked! Nothing happened but we were so creeped out we left early the next morning. Every once in a while we look at that photo and try to come up with some kind of explanation but there isn't one. My husband just had a wreck on his EBike fourth of July. It was bad. He fractured two bones in his face, broke his collarbone and 4 ribs. I've never seen someone with more bruising. He's practically head to toe in bruises, cuts and broken bones! We go tomorrow to the orthopedic doctor to see if they will be putting screws in his collarbone. As much fun as they are to ride they can be dangerous. I'm glad you didn't sustain worse injuries from your wreck! Sorry this is so long! Thanks for the nice videos. I think your channel will grow!
Wow. Oh my gosh, that sounds bad! I hope he heals up ok. I caught a sand patch while flying the drone and riding at the same time. I went head over the handlebars but was able to roll out of it. I'm thankful it wasn't bad. Tell your husband I hope he starts feeling better so he can get back on the bike. Sounds like he has a long road in of healing ahead. That was an awesome story! I love finding unexplainable things. It's so cool that you had the drone at the right place and time. That country is so big over there. Like you, I'm a bit of a skeptic. But I believe there are creatures in existence that we are unaware of.
I tracked poachers for 20 years in the foothills of the Rockies/Canada; me, my horse, 2 mules and my tracking dogs, I have never heard a noise or any sign I couldn't identify. My horse would pick up the scent of anything threatening long before my dogs, I would shush my dogs so I could spot what was coming/man or beast ...I've come across thousands of dead carcasses/piles of bones and reported each one, not one bigfoot lol... There are probably 5 million trail cameras out there between American and Canadian hunters and not one of an identifiable bigfoot....My Father always told me confront your fears, words I live by except when in Africa lol...Thanks for the video and ouch on the head, good thing you're not on blood thinners...
That's awesome. I bet you have seen some amazing displays from Mother Nature. I'm sure the job wasn't always roses. I've know an undercover officer with the Department of Natrual Resources. He told me a number of stories regarding poachers. It is fun to listen to the stories. Thanks for watching!
Kenny you have over 400 comments! That says loads, #holybuckets. Thank you for another amazing video of you turning what most of us would bitch and complain about into positive experiences. So much work on your end blesses us with 25 minutes of vicarious primitive camping joy. What animal was in that pond???
Thank you so much! I try to respond to all of them. Reading the comments help keep me motivated. I think that was either a muskrat or beaver. It was gone so fast and I could only see the top of the head. It would have been cool to see the body, then Id know for sure.
Great video Kenny...I used to work in St. Louis County awhile back and got sent out in the sticks after staying up late watching a Big Foot documentary about the area. Needless to say, the bear tracks I saw 2 miles out in the boonies didn't seem that scary 😂.
Here where I am in Michigan we don't have many spots to camp unless you want to go in a paid campground. Most are in the U.P. As soon as I finish getting my truck fixed I am headed somewhere because watching your videos is killing me not being able to camp. Soon my friend. I got my transmission back in today so a few more things to button up and off I go.
You're a hearty "norseman" up there in Minnesota....great vids with fun cooking techniques. I am sure that your channel is going to go off the charts. We'd love to have you doing this full time ! You make us feel happy and peaceful!!!
Had to laugh when I saw this one. Been there many times, as it used to be a buddy's deer camp from Archery opener til the end of rifle season. Rarely used now.. except for the party crowd. Pfeiffer Lake campground was only 5 miles up the road, but would have been full. There is a nice dispersed site on the right about halfway between that site and the campground, if you're ever up that way again. I enjoy your content.
I feel your pain. I am 6feet 5 inches tall and have a class A with slides and have smacked my head a few times. I use a small piece of orange pool noodles on the corners of slides to remind me to be careful. also change your white outside lights to yellow bulbs and that will cut down on bugs. they are attracted more to white light than yellow.
Watching your earlier videos I am missing Toby ❤ Honestly I don’t know how you do it camping all alone in the woods but it sure makes for interesting videos 😊 OMG the blood coming out of your head, your leg, your shoulder!!!! Please be careful!!!
Ouch... sorry about the boo boo's. Just reminders to be careful. I always wear a cap to help minimize the damage from hitting my head which I'm always doing. I enjoy the videos and am going to get back in my tc soon! Stay safe!
I was thinking the same thing! I almost always have a hat on. You can see in the clip right before that I wasn't wearing the cap. I don't think it would have scraped all the way to the skull if I had the hat on.
I didn’t realize that you were friends with Larry. I follow his channel as well. Love both of you guys and your content, always look forward to new videos. Haven’t seen much from Larry lately. Hope he’s ok.
Yes, Larry and I a few times a week. We both started our channels at the exact same time. I used to comment on his videos. He emailed me a few times, and we shared video tips and editing information. 3 years later, I consider him a good friend. However, we have never met in person. If I ever get a chance to go full-time with RU-vid, I told Larry I'd visit him. He has been busy with a special project for his channel. It's super top secret! Him and Mason are doing really well 👍
I was waiting for bigger disappointment- like losing the ribs in the fire again. :) Nonetheless, the weekend did not turn out too bad. Just finding a lonely spot out there is a big win. And finding those places takes a bit of effort. Either you got to be good at interpreting the aerial photos or have boots or rubber on the ground poking around til you come across one. In Minnesota there is probably a whole bunch more to discover.
I was in a tent that night during that storm on the Gunflint didn’t get the thunder, but got the torrential rain lol I thought my tent was going to cave in but it held up definitely was perfect weather for camping last weekend
Yes it was. Hopefully, you got everything dried out. The cooler temps on Saturday were nice. Sunday, it got a little warm. I think yesterday was the best weather of the summer so far.
It's so interesting watching your videos. I work seasonal for the DNR and my area is from Duluth to the end of the Gunflint and Arrowhead trails. I've been to almost every campsite in that area.
OMG 😮 Kenny you definitely had some BAD luck 👎🏻🤞🏻👎🏻 that weekend. Hope all the bumps and scrapes heal up. Ok thank you for taking me along I always enjoy it. 🇺🇸Friend From Georgia 🇺🇸
Great video, as a previous employee of the usfs, there are many dispersed camp sights in the Superior district. "I can tell you of many where to camp, but I won't tell you where I camp" just like blueberry picking spots. 😄😄
What a cool job! I'd love any tips you can give. You will have to look back at the video called Abandoned US Forestry Campground. So many people lost their minds when I called that site abandoned. I bet you will recognize it. I don't give the location to remote or dispersed sites online. I do give the names of the campgrounds though. I've had a dozen or more people get upset and unsubscribe because I don't put the GPS coordinates in my descriptions. But oh well....I spent years finding those spots and thousands of dollars in fuel on the forest roads. Here is that video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1_7zxgKuq3c.html A forest worker talked to me that weekend. He was the one who said the Forest Department abandoned the site for a new location up river.
@KennyOfAllTrades Finding garbage in the woods is always very disappointing, we would find garbage in the most remote areas. Lots of stories I could share, and that is from just working summers.
It's weird. Same thing with wildlife around my property here. I see turkeys, coyotes, raccoons, skunks, deer on a daily basis. Other homes around, maybe its a food source thing. Then when I disperse camp I don't see anything.
If you ever make it up to Rainy Lake there are quite a few awesome little-known spots with great views, tons of blueberries and nothing to interrupt your tranquility (besides red squirrels, wood peckers and the occasional black bear). Only accessible by boat unfortunately.
Look forward to watching your videos every Wednesday morning with my coffee, till next week be kind, be honest 😅 watch out for goony gogo's out there!😂
I cut up some short links of pool noodles and split one side length wise and push it onto my corners of the slide to avoid such accidents. Great video! I need to get one of those tripod grills. You said Walmart has them?
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I appreciate the comment too! One of the biggest ways to support these channels is by giving a thumbs up and leaving a comment. So I really appreciate it!
Lol😂Jeez Kenny, did you make it through doing laundry ok? Sorry, couldn’t help myself. I really do feel bad for you hitting your head and taking a spill on your bike. The upside?, you had a really nice campsite and an awesome rib dinner. Love the apple juice idea.
@@KennyOfAllTrades I’m glad I started watching your vids when you popped up on my algorithms, because you really show us some nice little jams/camping spots. I love the relaxing music you use, and your drone images. Encore Kenny!
Great footage! How deep are those rice lakes? Hope all your injuries have healed...bless your ❤️ heart. Can't wait for your next one. Have a safe an injury free week.
Me and a buddy were riding cross country on twin bikes2 750 Tiger Trumph and we carried tents and everything you could think of and it was dark we started eating and I and something kept rubbing on my key and I told him to stop and he said he wasn’t doing it turned flash light on and it was a big Skunk that was very friendly and he would eat right of your hand .I guess he had been around the camp ground.
🐥Don't be a feared😉Made Mr. Sasquatch giggle at my difficulties, pulling & grunting while pulling off my boots !!!!😜😍 Somewhere's in Oregon.. for real, NO JOKE LOL I Stopped to pee, alone, at night, probably bout 6-8ft CLOSE. Yes, he made me jump out of my skin! That was just ONE time, I've traveled quite a bit by myself & experienced a lot of WEIRD stuff. THAT was SOoo funny tho, I'll NEVER ever forget it. Hey, at least he let me pee in peace first !! 🪶Stay safe & thank you for your videos!!
At the very end you ended the video and you were walking around to the drivers side, but the back door was still open. I hope you remembered to close it AND put down your antenna! LOL!
You were in our “backyard “ on this one. We are in Virginia. Been here several times looking around never camped, don’t think our 5th wheel would work out.😊
That's awesome! I agree the spots probably are not long enough for a 5th wheel. Do you see many campers up there? The spots were all clean, and the bathroom was cleaner than most.
An abandoned or unused campground in Southern Arizona is suspect but an unused campground in Minnesota, not so much. Places is Arizona that are unused or abandoned usually have a history of stuff going on.
I ran Mosquito Control in a county here in Florida. I went to s American Mosquito control conference in Minnesota. I couldn't believe the budget y'all have for Mosquitos.
That would be interesting to hear. My nephew has a spraying business up here in the cabin country. He does very well.....I got into the wrong line of work.
I listen to sasquatch chronicles on yt and have listened 2 many, many stories. Of people's encounters with those creatures. I believe they r real but I DO NOT want to EVER c one!
I have those EXACT lanterns and ive found mine leak along the seams and the fill neck. Have you dealt with that on yours, and if so, have you found a solution to stop it?
Mine do. I fill them up on Saturady and let them burn. Then, when I leave on Sunday, they are empty again. I leave them empty while traveling. I left them full once. The truck stunk for days! I dont really use them for light, just citronella fuel. I might try to solder the neck in place, but then I wouldn't be able to replace the wick.. They were so cheap. I paid 9 dollars at Walmart. They are definitely not quality lantern. I'll look to see if I can make them better. I'll let you know if I come up with something.
