Haha, wouldn't hurt having some extra climbing assistance when hiking up the alpines! We're constantly on the move taking the Squad everywhere we travel, which sometimes makes it a bit tricky with 3, but maybe someday when we have a stable home base we'll consider adopting another. And for sure we'll document the entire thing! 😄

I absolutely LOVED this - and I agree with Jim Whitmore - this is better than any cable TV junk! My son was so inspired he has put up his tent in our backyard and is enjoying it now! I can't wait to order one of the dog cots! I've told you many times, Husky Squad, but I'll say it again, I live my dreams through you and really appreciate you sharing your adventures with us! Thank you so much for your comment! I completely understand what you mean. Huskies are extremely independent minded and tend to just do what they want. After so many years (11+) of spending time with them in the outdoors, we’re pretty confident that we’ve figured them out. Huskies are really smart, and can be quite stubborn, but we’re planning on publishing a training course for dog parents just like you. I loved my husky as a pup because she was so active and playful but she is 7 now and starting her golden years and I am absolutely in love with this age. She is so mellow and chill. I take her places like this and she swims off leash and listens. I say the older the better!!

Yes, I enjoyed your video. Actually tried to purchase 3 but they are out of stock for a couple weeks. I don’t know how you do it in your little Jeep. We have a small RV and my wife was worried. I also tried the Truelove harnesses but my puppy slipped right out. I purchased an Acre Harness. Works better made better. Much more thought went into it. Of course for you three angels they are all good.

A note about soap residue on dishes. Organic or not, a bit of soap left can cause intestinal distress and diarrhea. Always make sure soap is well rinsed off dishes after washing.

Can you answer some questions about your training? Did you do a puppy program etc?

That's the most common question we receive ❤ We didn't send them to any puppy classes. All the training is from our own experience and coming up with different methods while we work with the squad, and other dogs we rescued, fostered, and rehabbed. Because of the many requests we get, we're working on a detailed self guided program covering every aspect of our training - which will be available on HuskySquad.com in later in 2019. I took your suggestion..pulled my comfy chair next to the computer.. put on my headset and I was transported on an amazing adventure. Natural beauty, all the natural elements making something so beautiful that words can't describe it. There are many wonderful modern conveniences in our daily living that we sometime forget to look for, and pay tribute to what is given to us by nature. Your video reminds of these wonders. Something as simple as the sounds of the water rushing over the rocks or the way the path sounds beneath our footsteps can be so calming and you captured all this so elegantly. Then, if that were not enough. You shared love. You can see the love in your eyes as each of you look to one another. You can't watch this and not feel that love flow, it's almost tangible. This was so enjoyable and inspiring. A pure pleasure to sit and enjoy. Tidus looks like he is doing incredibly well! Continued healing wishes being sent his way. Hi I notice how patient they are when they are waiting for food or snacks we have 2 huskies originally we only had 1 and we have rescued another about 5 months ago however our older husky will become very territorial over toys or food he will get try to get our puppies food and will snap at her if she comes close to his... any tips? When playing catch he will also snap at her if she gets the ball he wants to be the only one to catch it...

Hello Viri ❤️Yes, we've done a lot of work with them to get to the point where we are today. It sounds like your older husky is exuding territorial/alpha behavior and does not see you as the alpha in the pack. This is a very big subject which were working for a self guided program since it's the most common question we receive (how to train dogs/huskies) I'd like for you to go to huskysquad.com and sign up to our newsletter to be notified when we release the program. I absolutely love Huskies. I have Siberian huskys named Sitka and Sarge. Sarge passed a few yrs ago and it broke my heart. We arr going to see a husky tomorrow at the shelter can't wait.

Love you guys! I'm currently trying to start bringing my Sibe, Kuruk out on camp trips with the fam. I have the Marmot fortress because we're up in Canada and snow will be a factor in winter. I love your set up and am using it to guide a few of my purchases right now. Especially, your amazon shop. Thanks for doing that! Couple questions, if you don't mind me asking. 1. What mattress do you guys use for yourselves? 2. Do you find it easier to cover a mattress with actual blankets or bring a large sleeping bag for the two of you? 3. The blankets you've covered the squads beds in, they're beautiful, where'd you get them? Again, love all your videos. Kuruk is just 1yr 3months and he partially tore his left rear ACL beginning of the summer and your ACL recovery videos have been so SO super helpful. Keep doing yous. Imaan :) So exciting to read you'll be camping with your husky! A special bond forms once you start doing this with your pup and we’re excited for you to experience this together. I’m so glad our set up is helpful. It took us many years to test and figure things out, and we always like to improve with each trip To answer your questions: 1. We use an IKEA wide youth mattress so we all fit well. We bought the one that comes in three parts so we can make ours shorter to fit the squad beds better :) 2. We covered the mattress in blanket and the sleeping bag on top. This keep our tent cleaner. 3. Thank you! I actually custom sewed it myself. You can get something similar at IKEA for relatively cheap. The beds we use in the tent is the same one we use at home (which we have on our AMAZON shop) Their comfort is our biggest priority. I’m so sorry to read about Kurk’s injury. How’s the recover going? Tidus is 100% recovered just 6 months in (we’ll do an anniversary video soon!) and he’s actually better than before the injury which is amazing but also so frustrating sometimes because his energy level is back as a 2 year old. He’s 10 haha! @@huskysquad Awesome! thank you so much. He's doing okay. Since it was just a partial tear we are focused on restricted activity/leash restraint, which drives him a little crazy. He used to hike trails all the time with me but I've been really careful to have him on uncomplicated terrain until it fully heals. He is not exactly thrilled with the change haha. I also do some stretches with him on that side to help the supportive muscles from tightening too much when they compensate. So glad to hear Tidus is back to full health. Did you guys limit his activity for the full 6 months as well? Yes, I saw that new video was up! Its on my list to watch. I love all your videos. Lol they are one of the main reasons I keep my youtube account. Two years ago when I first decided I was going to get a husky and was doing a bunch of research, your account was a huge help. (Also, if you're ever looking for other ideas on videos, I would love to see the methods you guys used to get to where you are comfortable having the pups off leash outdoors).

My first honest thought was that this video is a bit too long for me, because I “only” like the SQUAD but not camping and have no dog myself. Therefore, the many valuable and well-researched information from Victoria and JC are not so interesting for me. But when I saw the 30 second summary I melted away and can’t stop watching, and also relaxing, enjoying, dreaming …! @@huskysquad There are so many things I enjoy about your videos. Camping has always been a favorite activity of mine, so these videos are always fun to see. I like that you find the path less traveled, and discover these beautiful gems that the whole Squad loves. I also like seeing how you keep the pups comfortable. The cots are great, and what a good idea to bring their beds from home. The collar lights are great, too! It's helpful to see what works best for all of you - like what equipment and supplies to bring. I agree - coffee is a must! ;-)

Husky Squad We travel a lot for my brothers soccer and we take Champ to all of his games so we are planning to bring the cot to his games so no bugs get on him and so he is more comfortable.

I totally agree with you that huskies really enjoy it when their energy is spent. After a long hike my dog really likes relaxing and seeing him sleeping and dreaming after a great day of adventure is one of the things which make me the most happy.

What a great video. I've been taking my husky and GSD camping/hiking in dispersed areas in the National Forest for a few years. They love it in the wilderness just like the Squad. Hey, JC, consider getting a folding saw -- Silky brand or Bahco brand -- it's super useful for making firewood, perfect companion for your axe.

We really got spoiled with this campground 😆 You’re more experienced with this, but I think it takes hours if not days scouting for the perfect dispersed campground, right Well, depending on how picky we are I guess 😁, but we got lucky with this one! It was remote, but close enough to a small town. There was peace and privacy, but walking distance to a large trail network along a scenic creek. We’ll never forget it, and we’re so happy we captured some of our best memories for this video. Thank you for your advice and kind words!

@@huskysquad Yes, it's true, finding a great dispersed camping area can take some work. I drive and explore forest roads, pour over Google maps and Google Earth, look through websites such as freecampsites.net, etc. Safety is the most important concern; e.g., always let someone know where you are and what your plans are. It's like you said in the video, you learn how to do it little by little, take small steps and learn along the way. I look forward to more Husky Squad videos. You guys are great.

This was a beautiful video💚. Perfect to relax and watch after taking my 4 huskies for their morning walk (one of my babies is also doing natural recovery/therapy and healing from a torn acl injury, like Tidus, which is how I originally found your channel). I live in South Carolina so it’s already pretty hot here, but I cant wait for the fall/camping season! You guys and the squad are my new favorite channel to watch. Before her injury I would walk all of them together which is definitely a lot sometimes but they are pretty well behaved, not quite as good as your squad though! Now I usually walk her alone or just 2 pups at a time. We think she injured it around November of last year, so it’s been almost 7 months, but we don’t have a great support system from our vet(who of course only recommends surgery) or many physical therapy/holistic options in our area so I’ve mostly been figuring it out on my own and through research. She has improved a good bit since last year though, and has been fully weight bearing since about two weeks after the injury. She’s a tough girl and almost never acts like she’s in pain🙄, she just has a slight limp if she over exerts herself, but we are also working on building her leg muscles and strength back up💪

@@darar9316 Tidus's second injury was cumulative. We were hiking one day, and suddenly he started limping for no noticeable reason. A few traditional vets told us it was a full tear and recommended surgery, but our holistic vet (when we traveled back to Portland) said it wasn't, and our (dog and equine) physical therapist said it was definitely not a full tear. Have you tried a knee brace? We're publishing a video (this coming Friday) about Tidus's new braces, and since the filming of this video, Tidus has improved tremendously thanks to these braces. Stay tuned!
