@@yorkrothschild9922nah that’s standing for what you believe. You know the media will misconstrue what you say and paint you how they want if you let them
I hate when people blame rappers for their bad ass kids. I blame the parents. maybe if you teach your children right from wrong then you don't have to worry about what they are watching on TV or what they hear on records. Parents should be role models not celebrities!
I know this is late...but its sounds like you probably don't have kids. I agree that it's the parents job to teach morality, but you are a fool if you think music, whether rap, heavy metal, etc can't affect behavior. There is only so much parent's can do. It's impossible to completely block the world of media from children. If they don't hear it at home, they will hear it at school, at a friends home, the list goes on. Also, don't play dumb, most athletes, entertainers are role models whether or not they acknowledge it.
***** You knoooow. I do like to believe that people should be able to listen to music and not be negatively influenced by it... but idk, people are dumb, and maybe all artists of all types should be more aware of the potential influences and effects they may have.... cuz maybe people are dumb and shooooooo
Everyone is born with a brain. So kids should know right from wrong. If a grown person acts wrong it is on him, it is never the parents fault for how their kids grow up. Everyone is responsible for their own actions.
truth is gangster rap may in fact have a bad influence on some people, but at the end of the day we have to take responsibility for our own actions and stop blaming/shifting the blame to others for things we've chosen to do. That's something we all have to learn.
Dame always cookin he a genius and people can’t stand the truth they say stuff like he ignorant you don’t reach levels and platforms like he does with out knowing he is not ignorant people are ignorant because they don’t even know what I means smmfh
"they were so excited that I was gonna be conversatin' with you guys" This guy shouldn't be a school principal, nevermind going on TV criticising people much more successful than him.
For me I went to the Army then honorable discharge and got my degree in engineering. I have 4 boys and I love every moment with them. But don’t think I don’t bump some rap in my car. I do. New music old music. Don’t matter. I listened to 50 Cent growing up. Never wanted to get shot 9 times. Never wanted to do 3-9 in the pen. I did want to be the master of my own destiny. Something I learned from 50 Cent as a teen who lose his dad.
The point is this... It is not the job of Celebrities and Artists to raise kids. The parents/guardians should have the most influence in their life and if they don't then that is the problem. Because something will influence them
The argument is over as soon as you bring up kids. Because all I say is, "Where are the parents? It's not my responsibility to raise your children. There's a label on my album to let you know it has explicit content and lyrics. I don't hide it. Take responsibility for your life choices. You had children. Raise them. What, you thought it was the world's job? US blamed artists back then a lot. Stupid media.
You got to love Dame at the end of the day. Ppl hate on him, but you can see he means well. Very educated. It's just that he speaks very passionately, and ppl misconstrue that as him being aggressive. Nah he is speaking the real. Cam told O'Reilly- "I got dirt on you doggy"..lol
The guy was right. I used to be on the side of the artists when I was younger. Growing older and wiser, rap music has destroyed the black community. But it’s some damn good music
i love how they keep cutting the rappers off because they are making valid points. if your gonna pick on someone at least give them a chance to defend them selves and then don't get mad when they have valid arguments
exactly, you said it just right. I have a 6 month old myself and its my responsibility to raise my daughter right, not the media, musicians, athletes or even spongebobs. its my own (and my wife's) responsibility to teach her and guide her in the right directions.
I've gained a ton of respect for Cam'ron, back when I viewed this years ago I couldn't understand jack shit, I was a racist so I just saw 'oh dem rap artists talkin ghettoish and Bill O'Reilly is yelling like a jackass.' Now I'm older I can see it's a dialect ya know? And they are saying really intelligent stuff, and also that Bill O tried to think he could yell at some black rappers and that they'd fold like morons and he'd look good. He never expected someone who uses slang to be smart.
When Cameron makes a valid point. Mr Salome tries to focus on them cursing in music. Like if rap disappeared tomorrow cursing wouldn't be in any other medium known to man. It starts with the parents and the guidance these kids have. What Can said is right if they have good role models in their life they'll understand that Rap music is fiction and they can enjoy it on a fictitious level.
It is but they are making valid points. Movies, video games and now even TikTok are way worse than rap music. Where are the parents monitoring their kids?
Bill opened up the interview in a disrespectful manner… “we’re gonna have a nice, intelligent discussion here and I’m going to moderate…he will ask you questions and you’ll take turns answering…” like????
To me this kinda dumb because listening cam'ron music at a young age at that time didn't make me want to shoot up anything. It made me want to dress fly and become a rap artists, because he was a great rap artist and hip hop was always teaching you a listen in a song, I clearly knew when they talked about guns and sex and fighting it was just track number 5 on the album. Its not the music's fault if a child shoots up a school. Its the parents fault for not trying to do whatever they could as a responsible parent to help that child or teach that child good principles. Alot of parents won't admit it though....your child is just a reflection of you ....so if your shitty parent, more than likely.....you'll have a shitty child. I"ve seen it from many different angles, you see the child....but then you meet the parents and then it clicks. Like....oh it makes sense why your this way. I'm not gonna lie....this is gonna sound fucked up.. ..but most fucking parents shouldn't be parents and alot of them are selfish as fuck even twoards their own god damn children and treat them like shit but expect them to make something out of themselves anyway.....Basically its like "I pay the bills and I take care of you, thats all I need to do and you need to figure shit out on your own because, you live off my money"....... Meanwhile the children are fucking lost and clueless and trying their best to figure out shit by networking with other friends and other people outside the family trying figure out what to do with their life with little direction. Nowadays families are trash compared to families of old. Its all about feelings and sex and money...
It would be better to question the people that own and or control 94% of the media, as to the product they put out. And it is not black people that own the media.
Dude... don't say condecending things like "catch up". Even when I questioned your interpretation of the discourse, I clearly said "no offence". You're preaching to the chior bro. A house divided... Fuckin simpletons that don't question who is profiting from the narrative that they're being fed need to catch up, not me; not you.
It’s not Cam’s responsibility to teach every American child right from wrong. We are responsible for our own actions. The parents are responsible for the poor upbringing of their children
