We have Camry hybrid 2012 in Australia, amazing reliable car, so economical and it gives 21km per L in city. It has ECVT not ordinary CVT. No one buys VW in Australia or New Zealand as European cars are money pit. In Australia I have seen Camry doing 800000 km but still runs perfectly fine. Most taxis are Camry hybrid now.
Camry makes 200hp combined and torque is unspecified as it's torque curve looks virtually impossible It initially goes up to 500 or so and dros to around 220 at higher revs
in intials camarys hybrid will eat you up, and in mids and highs that 2.5L is unbeatable. hybrid has a huge advantage in initial as it has no mechanical complexities like an combustion engine. and no the new camary is even better and biggest thing is how calm that engine in while that vw is running out of breath.

That 2.5 is easily capable of producing 300 hp stock with a better gearbox but toyota always down tunes its engine for reliability. .still it won hats off!!!
1st thing i tell you just watching 30 seconds of this video there is no 6 speed CVT in Camry it's only e-CVT which is motor driven. And the new one is even better , more weight and more power , more luxury. I had both an amazing and incredible machine.

Camry hybrid shayad Made in Japan hai. Maine 2003 ya 04 mein Made in Japan 2.0 SOHC auto CRV chalayi thi aur 2.4 DOHC India made Accord bhi. Indian manual Accord chalane ka mann bhi nahi hua tha against Japanese auto CRV. Japan made engine ka total different feel tha. Mai manual wala banda hu. Old school!
I have 22 Camry hybrid in Qatar .. Pumps 216Hp Around. But if we turn on sports mode hybrid system turns off and gives aggressive power ... I can't think another sedan like Camry. Even hybrid system turns on get a great launch on ev mode😂

Many people here are suggesting than Octavia/Superb will win a drag race with this Camry hybrid model. Answer is they won't. 0-100Kmph of this particular Camry model is 7.8 seconds. Octavia/Superb all take 8+ seconds. This part is clear. I also think that even in 100-200kmph run, Camry will increase the gap even more. 202 bhp of 2.5 ltr engine combined with instant torque of electric motor with eCVT (no CVT lag). Also Camry was considerably more expensive than Skodas and comparable to only X1/A4 price wise.
