Just submitting a comment of appreciation here. You provided me with all the information I needed. I found your video first and needed no other. You are among the unsung heroes who make RU-vid the place you can find a video for any car fix. God bless you, sir. Pax Tecum!
My 03 Gs Spyder just hit 190,000 and the sensor went out. I had no idea where it was located THANK YOU SO MUCH you really helped me and saved a bunch of headache. Again, Thank you sir.
I appreciate the amount of commentary in the video and the sounds of summer nights soundtrack was pleasing in so many ways. I didn't even feel the need to stop the video when I confirmed the location (all I need to know) of the sensor and I appreciate not needing to search for it. Good job Sir
Thanks for posting...your video was the best that I have found on how to replace the cam sensor on a 3G, 2.4L Eclipse. My motor was randomly shutting off while driving and after replacing the fuel pump and pump relay which turned out not to be the problem, I'm hoping replacing the cam position sensor will fix the problem.
Unfortunately you're right it's not but it should still be at the top of the engine near the end of the valve cover just look for a sensor that's around that place it should look about the same as my sensor I hope you have more luck
Hello there I’m working on a 2001 2.4 eclipse and I was wondering if the cam position sensor will stop my car from starting up if it’s damaged? All the other relays look good will it also affect the timing on it ?
Thanks I’m new on working on this type of car I have a 1998 gst turbo but now I’m working on a 4 cylinder 2.4 model do you think I can put automatic parts on a 5 speed one will they fit or will it be best to buy the sensors new ?
