@@keen6912 personally as someone who plays an Alto sax everyday, I'd say it sounds like a muffled Alto. My friend plays soprano and it sounds much more nasally and clarinet like. But you are free to think it sounds like a muffled soprano since you decided to reply to my comment. Cool instrument either way!

I would consider this a practice version to eventually learn the sax.

@@alanguages The Venova uses recorder fingering, and you'll have to learn a whole new fingering if you move to a true saxophone.

Agree with you. Many people including other profesional musicians who play saxophone are writing negative comments about this instrument. All wrong.

I mean sure, there's a reverb effect added, but you can surely make it sound like that with practice.

I bought one with no experience of playing the sax and it’s not an easy instrument at all, just to be able to play each note is hard. Seeing videos like this makes me wish I didn’t sell mine on though.

@@romanlakes do you play recorder? I have some experience with recorder and I wonder how hard this one would be...

Irina Gorbunova I don’t play recorder, but I do have a little bit of experience with tin whistles - that said I was only ever a beginner. But for me it isn’t the fingering that is the challenging aspect of this instrument, although I’m sure your experience with recorder will help you in that regard - it’s the fact that it’s a reed instrument, it’s a total unique skill. There’s a real, real challenge to learning how to get a sound from the reed, let alone getting each note to sound decent. I definitely recommend getting a venova if you’re up for the challenge, just know that it will likely take many months on practice to become proficient. Also, I may be wrong but it seems like I often hear venovas sounding a bit out of tune, which makes me wonder if it’s harder to play the notes than a regular sax.

@@VenovaYamahaBrasil Bubba, I bought the 1 1/2 reed (Vandoren bamboo) as you recommended. I feel like flying. For those who are also beginners: you need to saw it, too long for the Venova but it is a trifling matter.

going take some practice i brought extra reeds bamboo ones takes some work i amsure my mouth is not working properly maybe because I have top partial plate.

@@VenovaYamahaBrasil getting there its in how you hold your mouth and I got some good notes out of Verona sort of reminds me of playing the chanter when wanting to become a bag piper, it is a gentle hold onto the reed

Well it's suposed to have recorder fingerings, but in fact there are a couple of different one as well as other that doesn't work (especially Ab). The C# from the second octave is different, you have to use the same fingering from the first octave with the octave key.

It doesn't need more keys, it just need a better conception, because some of the fingerings aren't working right.
