honesty im pretty sure its designed around a modern version of 1930s USSR design (so modern looking tech but designed so it looks like it would fit in the 30s). So that atmosphere they created matched it perfectly

The fact Suzanne managed to make us root for Snow and Lucy Gray, even already kowing who Snow would become in ther future was honestly masterclass writting. Now this is my favorite Hunger Games book.
