Hey folks, in this video Kim and I put a predator 212cc engine on a tandem two-seater bicycle! it is a super cool build and it was a lot of fun to ride the motorbike together! The bike tops out at maybe 25-30 mph, and has plenty of torque to take the two of us anywhere. That's awesome bro, you have a beautiful gal there and she seems cool as hell you guys are great together.... I built one a them Chinese 2 stroke bike kits and only rode it maybe a handful of times then it got boring but I never thought of doing a tandem so I could bring a friend n go bar hopping or a lady for casual cruises hahaha this is great I better get welding!!!

I like what you've done... But I think I would have left the bicycle chain and gear sprockets as well as the gear change derailer on the right of the rear tire and jackshaft. That way you could change years and possibly go faster while still having torque at the low and high ends. Bicycle chains are stronger than you think. And the jackshaft is the perfect point at which to make the transition between the two chain and sprocket sizes. But all in all you did a great job on this project. Kudos.

yeah i've used the gears on bikes before to switch gears, but it's just to unreliable over a certain HP, especially if a lot of weight is involved. but im sure there are maybe other ways. Thanks for the comment!

If you gear the motor properly it should do 34-35 and still get off other line decently.

I think gearing was good, I think the engine just needs a little modification, I think the muffler may be a bit restrictive

can't without a VIN #. Around here, bicycles sold with 66/80cc motors get a piece of paper that makes them legal to ride on the road but without insurance or registration. They are a grey area...not a motorcycle but not a bicycle and thus laws from both apply.

you can solve the leaning by taking the handle bars off the rear and putting a seat on the back with arm rest and a back rest on it that way she will have a back rest and she will not have an urge to lean

I am puzzled over why you would do this. I met my girl at a motorcycle rally and we went everywhere on our small ( 80cc ) motorcycle for years. Now almost 50 years later we are riding a tandem pushbike together. 160000+ km over the last 11 years. No vibration. We can talk as we go and get fit at the same time. An engine would detract from what we now find so good. PS we can't easily change ends. I am used to steering and she is used to being a passenger. Changing conflicts with our reflexes and makes it quite difficult.

I have been wanting to build a motored bike , or ebike, that uses the different gear ratios of the bike! Although the hub motor is the easiest way to build a E bike, I do want about 1500watt motors front and rear, or anout 4hp, with a 2kw motor spinning the cogs! For near 7hp, with the TQ of a 20-25 hp gas engine atleast, I don't know how the bike would survive!!

Depends how bored the cops are. Never had a problem with motorized bikes where I live. Had one that was asking about it because he wanted to build one though.
