The subs would fluctuate and start warping right before they broke and flooded. So maybe you could try moving at a slower speed while underwater to see if they stayed together.

A way to fight fires from the airplanes is to hold r above the fires it puts the fires out and repairs damage and then have bilge pumps to pump water out and have somthing that can take hits and hit the carrier back hard it's a way i tested it

Submarines traditionally dive using a “ballast” which fills with water in order to sink.

some ww2 subs don't have watertight con towers and allow them to be flooded during dives and they empty during surfacing

Submarines (until the Elektrobootz Mk. 9, i'm pretty sure) were never meant to submerge at all times, they were meant to fire torpedoes, and submerge as a way to escape, the Elektrobootz was revolutionary in that way, where the germans perfected the snorkel and other mechanisms in order to have a submarine be constantly submerged, as to be even more undetectable by enemy ships, like destroyers, which could easily defeat submarines via depth charges

I think the reason of the top flooding was because it was supposed to as there are sub in the real world which are mostly Russian subs flood the top so th e windows do not crack
