As a 12 year old I can confirm I understand the lore of the game and understand how dark the lore is but I still love the game and it is one of my favorite rogue-likes or rogue-lite and the challenge is really good. As if right now, I'm playing rebirth and have all the checkmarks for isaac and azazel, and I'm working on other characters. Also, I don't have any of the dlc yet cuz I'm trying to 100% rebirth first. I know people don't recommend it, but I do it anyway. Anyway, my review of the game is 10/10. I would recommend it for all ages 13+
Whenever you do get to the point of dlc, I recommend jumping straight to Repentenance, instead of trying to fully experience each one separately, from what I've heard Repentenance fixes some issues Afterbirth had that a lot of people didn't like.
Yeah a lot of afterbirth+ weirdness got fixed in repentance - also, some of the worst items get fixed in repentance so you won’t be left disappointed by stuff like holy water.
I was also AT LEAST seven years old when i first started playing this game (around late 2013!), i was goofing off a lot of the time, watching leathericecream videos and enjoying whatever was added on the community remix (the tiny planet addition was hype), mum allowed me the original on steam but not rebirth when it released for some reason so i had to get it cracked >.>
As a person who got my hands on Doom 3 while I was 6, I can say "Yes.", it's about how do you present a game to a child. If you wouldnt tell anything and just throw this game in a face, ofc child would cry and be traumatized once he/she tries it. If you would guide a child and elaborate some questions for him/her, even better. Dad got me a Doom 3 disc, and told me that game may be very scary, however I do have a gun, so nothing to fear about, I can protect myself. Bravely almost got to the end through all spookyness and jumpscares, but, well, dropped the game out of boredom on one part and because of I got more bright, fun and engaging game than Doom 3. (Still traumatized because of the lost soul presentation, had nightmares, poor girl, and when I encountered hell knights I've just asked mom to help me lol, they are scary as hell)
bro i got the binding of isaac repentance and when i watched this video i wanted to play it the 2 or 3 time i did it was my first time winning so thanks for the luck :)
I'mma be honest i've been told that i've had nightmares about minecraft like that i would sleeptalk and be scared of a creeper or something so the nightmare part can be true about like any game tbh since i didn't think minecraft was scary at all (let's just not talk about the cave sounds)
I watched people playing TBoI since I was 7, then my mother got it for me and described it in the scariest way possible and I stayed away from it, rediscovered it at 14 and I've been playing ever since
i was playing the binding of isaac in front my 4ywar old sister and she is chill about is not even geting sceared of it and have fun with me and some time she want to play it to
also in the old versions, brimstone damages enemies a lot less, ipeac can easily hurt yourself if you fire next to a rock or enemy, ipeac is hard to hit enemies that simply chase you, and bloodshot eye can hurt you so easily (also if you ever see conquest you will hate him even more than bloat)
I actually played isaac at 5 years old at my cousin house but I had skill issue, in my best run I beat mom, aftet that I grew up to 15 years old, boughy the game and 100% it
I feel like I’m the only one that played Isaac as a child… on mobile… and still plays it on mobile with the repentance dlc (btw yeah, repentance is finally on mobile if you forgot or didn’t know)
I also remember after a few months I finally beat mom and going to my cousin’s room (since I was playing when I was on my cousin’s house) and saying “I just beat Isaac’s mom” and my cousins bursting out from laughter since he didn’t knew anything about about a Isaac and had 0 context from my sentence
One thing - don't look at the IQ's because the IQ's are standaridised for the age group adn thus 100 for 5 year old is not a 100 for 8 year old and as it coomunicates an average intelligence for a 5 year old and not an 8 year old.
That makes sense I suppose, I wasn't really thinking too hard when putting that example up because I think people get what I mean but I shouldve probably looked into it a tad more
I started playing this game when I was five or six and my parents got it for me even when they looked at the game I don’t think they what it was actually about but tbh neither did I lol
If you for some reason want a child to play TBOI, just put the deep laboratories mod or something like that, worse case scenario they just become femboy furries
When I was around 13 I showed Isaac to my parents (who were catholic) and they didn’t care and thought I’d anything it was teaching me about religion W game
Is it legal to play Isaac without Repentance? Of course it's not a game for children, the question is: why a child should play The Binding of Isaac? ... And that's how you closed the video B-) "There are other characters than Isaac"... Well, maybe 5+ :)
I fully completed my first repentence file when i was 11 (im 13 now) also yes i am a dirty pie-rat like every other kid that wanted to play it but couldn't afford it (dosen't help my country's economy is shit at the moment)
I’ve been scared of buying the game, it looks so fun but I’m scared I will get caught with such an explicit imagery game with strong religious things. I did get away with ultrakill though 😈
not possible in flash isaac, but in rebirth I'm not sure how effective it would be? You do get 360 degree movement but I often find myself mixing up the shoulder buttons and triggers on what they do (which tbf, i don't play on controller often)
@@Randonlyh i genuinely only play TBOI REP on controller, way less missclicks plus like i’m super used to it. forgot to mention that with controller moms knife and joy-stick genuinely get better cuz you do get the full 360 degrees of freedom instead of the 8 normal derelictions
