If you've never had the privilege of having a dog' for company it's hard to appreciate how much they are missed. It was plain for all of us to see what Ella meant to you. We will all miss her.

Every time I start a new video of yours, I am always relieved to see Ella in the workshop. I could see she was getting on, but how sweet she was. So I was very sad to learn she has passed. Dogs are the best of friends and I will miss her dearly. My condolences for your loss.

Ah Tom I'm in floods of tears here. I'm so, so sorry to hear about Ella. She was a good buddy always hanging on your every word. I always loved seeing her appearances and every time I'd send her belly rubs and ear scratches. We had a beautiful golden lab for 13 years. She got diabetes and wasn't responding to medication. We had to put her to sleep. She was too good a girl to let her suffer. I often wish we could get years more with them. Ah Tom. Sending big hugs and healing wishes from Ireland. They're part of the family and the best friend you could ever ask for.

As a long time viewer, my heart is broken for you and your family about Ella. She was my favorite star of your videos. She will be missed terribly. Rest well, sweet Ella.

12 years is a long life for a labrador, but we'd love for them to live forever. Our condolences. Also from my daughter and wife, who don't usually watch your entire videos but loved to check for Ella cameos when I watched them. At one point, even _our_ black Lab girl took a good look at Ella. She will be missed in several continents, as the poet said.

Ella was always there…really a part of the furniture. So hard to lose a beloved pet. I do enjoy your starting montages of birds or other animals. This one was beautiful with the red of a house finch, I think, sitting in the red dogwood twigs. Lovely.

I join the others in sending my condolences. Our Lab of 17 had to be PTS during the Covid. Exceptionally, the vet(who was at a neighbor's stables,) was able to send "Arthur" into where ever lying beneath the same tree he helped me plant with wife and son and I wishing him "bonne nuit," as our vet released the rubber band. He's buried beneath a huge Oak in the forest above our little farm...We still haven't been able to replace him. richard/Normandy, Fra.

I am sorry to hear about Ella. She was a good friend and great actress. After watching many of your videos I am convinced that I could send you a box of toothpicks and you could turn it into a lovely piece of furniture. Watching your videos is not only entertaining, but provides the encouragement for many of us to tackle a project that was once considered out of our reach. I was just visiting a couple in their 80's. They were lamenting that one of their favorite ladder back chairs was damaged beyond repair and would soon have to be thrown out. I took it home and with some of your self instilled courage and training got it repaired and revarnished with your favorite tung oil varnish. Next will come learning to replace the thatch seat. Thanks for all you do. I hope you and your family have a happy holidays ahead.

I love how natural things look in the "After" images, Tom! You really brought out the natural beauty of the wood without having to result to extreme measures. I think this is almost always the best way to go if it's possible. I know that I like tables to look nice, but with a look that shows off some history as well. Like you, I think it "looks good!"
