@@NotAlbino True, but for these types of challenges I still find light rolling really good, specially when in late-game pretty much anything will oneshot you. It's also good for rolling away for the first attack of waterfowl

@@xablarafa It can be easy, I’ve been watching someone cluelessly fart on everything in the game. Hasn’t used another weapon since bloodhound, does not use weapon arts or spells, managed to find out about Altus the completely backwards way, did not even discover godrick or a single shardbearer until after this and only because someone talked about great runes and they asked what that is, goes through the game with fat levels but horrible stats (40 in everything non-magic and in a bizarre order), high health and crimson tears has taught them to never dodge or jump or run, etc. My only hope is Malenia humbling them because my sanity can not handle someone playing like this the whole way.

28:34 is the reason why you buy throwing knives or fan daggers (but NOT kukris as they slow af) with whatever runes you Dont plan to use it. They do shit damage with low stats, but they allow you to safely sneak in a hit to avoid stagger from going down, and since they come out so fast, you can roll away from hits. Dont use them for damage, use them as tools to keep the stagger up in all those attacks you cant even approach. Kale has unlimited of throwing daggers for 40 runes, you can hold 40 at a time which is more than enough to use for that purpose. So basically skill issue, you did not believe Hard enough
You can also use them to bait out Waterfowl from Malenia. If u make a shit ton of distance when she starts pacing side to side and throw a dagger she'll dodge it, but her AI thinks you are within melee distance and she'll start it super far away.

I feel the Malenia fight is more poetic than anyone here realizes: -both are acting as the avatars for an Outer god, Malenia being the Rot God’s, and Albino being the Frenzied Flame’s. -both are using katanas -both Albino and Malenia are naked

maybe my opinion is unpopular, but this was my first soulslike game and i personally didn't mind the roll catching. I think it just taught me to be more careful with my rolls and to not just spam it whenever i see an attack.
Rathalos EX is such a roller coaster of how a fight is gonna go. I typically have despair if I see the new player is a healer or a squishy dps because you just know the 3 lives are going fast. It hurts more when you reach phase 2 and despite giving the advice that healing doesn’t work you still see that medica 2 casted.

First one is the attack where she double swipes and retreats. Second is the quick double swipe where she only takes a small step forward. Looks like I was wrong about the direction at the very least, but I think both of these are correct examples of the attacks you were getting clipped by. This could also be a positioning thing, as it looks like they were already walking to the left before the attacks even come out.
That naming convention like Godfrey, Godrick, Godwin or Miquella, Melina, Malenia has been in FS games since forever. Like Gwyn, Gwyndolyn and Gwynevere
There are a few replenishable sources of Trina Lilies, but that requires farming and has a low percent to happen. Good to keep in mind for future runs.

1:15:50 you actually did the strat no hit runners use accidentally. If you are underneath the elden stars when they spawn, for some reason they become super slow. You can see that you were able to outrun them and normally you can’t do that
I'm like 99% sure Black flame tornado's Specific black flame effect does stack with itself. Going frame by frame in a fight against Malenia I could see that each damage tick did ~400 and the incremental damage between each tick got higher after more ticks. It went from the flame ticking her health so little that the yellow bar effect didn't occur until the latter half when you're about to slam the weapon. Even with minimum 10 Faith the full version did over 2k damage against her. (Fyi the 400 damage ticks were not the 10 faith attempts)
Mohg is always a lot of fun when he keeps cumming bloodflame everywhere and just chains the fast attacks back to back for 10 minutes.. It made me almost as happy as the tree sentinel randomly chaining like 5 of the side horse bashes...
