All these alternative Neuropathy treatments are so expensive 😪. I’m miserable and desperate though. I have neuropathy all over my entire body from a severe spinal cord injury. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy. It’s truly awful.
I had interstitial neuralgia... 2 nerves got smashed between my ribs. Then those nerves swelled. It felt like my whole left side was being crushed. It was extremely painful and there was nothing I can do except take painkillers and anti-inflammatories and wait. I went to a chiropractor who offered acupuncture. It gave me so much relief!! I literally felt the pain sensation change based on how and where she placed the needles. Truly amazing experience. Neuralgia isn't neuropathy, but acupuncture definitely works for nerves. Neuropathy is a common issue, from diabetes, after chemo or antibiotic damage, or spinal cord injury. Acupuncture truly does work! And btw, long-term use of high doses of gabapentin negatively affects cognitive function, especially memory.
My experience with Gabapentin was 600 mg 4 times a day . As a result all of a sudden I completely lost my memory. I thought it was me, it was me taking Gabapentin. I stopped taking Gabapentin completely and my memory has come back completely. There is an addiction associated with Gabapentin and withdrawal symptoms also. And the doctors give it away like candy. I also had strange thoughts of suicide. After reading all the side effects this is to be some of the known side effects of Gabapentin. Beware of these effects upon you I would rather be able to remember then to not remember either way I had neuropathy. I would rather be able to remember always that was really scary
I love your videos! Could you maybe do one on your process of becoming an acupuncturist?? I am wanting to pursue that career, so that would help me a lot!

I just started acupuncture for idiopathic progressive neuropathy I'm not diabetic, have no pain. After two sessions it seems worse. Should I continue with treatment
Well depends it’s basically free where I’m at I pay 5$ a visit with insurance coverage. But 1000$ for 24 treatments is actually relatively affordable but of course you’re in GB so I can understand why spending any significant amount of money on health care can come as a shock.
He states….One main study performed in 2007 proves that it works! But you’re a doctor. Surely you have case studies of everyone you’ve treated that are testimony to your work? You’re talking like everyone that has acupuncture for this is surely going to be cured. It’s not as straightforward as that. Neuropathy isn’t a disease unless it’s caused by disease. Mine is a symptom from a back injury that damaged my nerve in my leg, not a disease. I started having acupuncture treatment and its made my pain worse. And if you’re stating that nerves will be growing back then that doesn’t happen without pain. Nerves need calming, not to be fired up. Just listening to you talk has started mine off for already. 2 sessions a week for 8-12 weeks as a start? You must be joking. People don’t need that many sessions . Nerves are not like muscles to build up either. They are extremely complex compared to muscles and have to approach it in a completely different way.
