I have a 13 xt 1000 , it had 2000km and zero issues then I put a highlifter bracket lift and did 1300km on top and zero issues so, You might be right about the spring spacers. But the xt springs suck too lol
Yeah those xt shocks are crap 💩 lol 😂. They do that so you can upgrade to the fox shocks or Elkas. Yeah my factory fox shocks on my 2016 renegade 1000 xxc are still going strong at 2686 miles currently. 👍
I'm replacing my 2021 850 xt springs with heavy duty springs. The instruction ask to install the springs with the part number towards the shock absorber piston rod. I try to install in this manner but the spring stopper won't fit on the end of the spring on that end, but it will on the other? Any ideas?
Its just a spring. I always try to follow the directions as well. But if it fits upside-down, I'd install it. Can't see how it wouldn't do its job without seeing it in person. Give it a try, let me know how you make out. Thanks for watching!
I'll probably bite the bullet and get a set of elkas or fox when mine blow out. Over 3k miles and still going well on my 2015 but they do feel too soft at times. No spacers though.
I just got a 2023 outlander Mossyoak XT 850 and the shocks are like marshmallows I want to upgrade to the fox I have an XTP totally different ride thanks for your video I’m bringing it back to the shop to upgrade them . Does anybody out there know what it would cost to do that thanks
Update! After a day of riding I can say Elka stage 3 shocks are night and day difference over the stock xt shocks. I'm 400 lbs. I used to have to slow down to a crawl at the whoops. Bottomed out a lot. The elkas eat up the whoops at speed. They are worth the $1700 dollars. My back doesn't hurt after riding all day like it used to. You can spend less for the stage 1 or 2 and they would prbly be a great improvement as well.
