I’m an old lady, 62, grandma, 5’10” for reference . SOOOOO, I got me a ‘22 Ryker Rally! Never going to look back. The point of riding is the freedom and love of speed and nature. There’s no damn age limit.
Well, I’m 52, no prior motorcycle experience- got a used 2019 Rally. Love it so much I ride as much as I can - 2-up with my wife who also loves it. Turned it into a cruiser/tourer with saddle bags and better suspension. 12,000 miles later and I have zero regrets. Highway, country roads, dirt roads no problem. Such an awesome machine. I ride with Harley’s , BMW’s , Indians, other Can Ams, etc… we all are enjoying our rides ! We all love our own rides and respect each other’s - and we ride together which is what counts. You can make the Ryker the bike you want from sportster to long distance cruiser/tourer depending on mods. Stay safe and have fun.
Best can am video ive watched yet. Wanted to see a big guy riding one of these. Your personality is awesome and you’ve made my big ass feel way better about wanting a can am Ryker now. Thanks bro
This video was refreshing and very informative in a way that anyone could understand. It was an honest presentation by an obviously unbiased open minded rider/tester. I really like "the big guys" attitude and enthusiasm so I decided to comment, which I rarely do, because I am aware that I tend to be a bit long winded - lol. Makes no difference what one rides as long as you feel the "Wind Therapy" from being "In the Wind" to put one's head in a great place for relaxing and releasing the mind from pressures and stress. Motorcycles, and the like, have always been living tranquilizers for me and not just another vehicle only as transportation. I have always gotten to my happy place when riding for the last 65 years and still going ( started at 10 y/o on a Zundapp scooter ). I have had 55 two wheelers, 2 Spyders, and now a Ryker 900 ACE for my wife. Yep, I'm 75 yrs. old, and my wife is 70 and just starting out on piloting her own Ryker. My last bike about 3 years ago was a 2008 Kawasaki ZX14 Ninja "Rocket Ship" so I am no stranger to speed and power ( liked that too much so it was time to sell it ). I love our 2016 F3 T manual shift and I hope my wife will feel the same about her Ryker. It's all about enjoyment and relaxing with fun stuff before it is too late. Besides, these three wheeler Can-Ams are a good bit safer than two wheels and that is fact and not related to rider age. Keep on truckin' Folks !!!!
Thank you. Leave all "long winded" comments you like, I enjoy the feed back hopefully I get to ride lots of machines this summer, stay safe and have fun
You sold me. I am 6'4 and was worried the 900cc would be too small, but seeing you at 6'6 rocking the 600cc comfortably let me know I can make it work. Thanks hermano. Subscribed.
Thanks for making this video. This is the most informative Ryker video I have found -- way more info than any of the others. It's helped me decide to go ahead and get the 600. Thanks!
My wife is 67 and crashed her 400 cc scooter last year and was injured some but not to deterred she went out and bought herself a Can Am Ryker 900. She also attended a Can Am riding course as well. I attended and rode the Spyder version also. Had a blast .I’m 73 and still riding motorcycles. The Ryker is a great alternative in my opinion. When I feel I shouldn’t be two wheelin any more I will probably get a Ryker or Spyder as well. And yes watch those brakes! I can attest to that as well.
you know I'm right there with ya. after riding this. I can see a old retired soup ripping around on something like this. glad you wife is good yall stay safe and have fun.
I'm 62, a longtime rider, got run of the road last year on my traditional trike by an aggressive driver, so I'm right there with your mom. I'm looking into buying one of these. Thanks for your video! :)
I ride with the Widows Sons Masonic RA and have a Can-Am Ryker 600 Ace. I am not the only one. When others get stuck in the rain I ride through a Thunderstorm at top speed. Some of my friends have crashed on Harleys, because they are not that safe in comparison.
Thank you for this review! I really enjoyed it considering that I just bought a 21 Ryker 600 for my wife. We both love it. This is our first shall I say "open air" vehicle.
As a Ryker rider for the last 2 years. Thank you for saying it is a motorcycle! Same wind! I also needed my M license just like 2 wheels. I love my Ryker. It's a blast.🤘
Thanks for this up close and personal videos. My knees won’t keep an Electra Glide or Goldwing up at stops. Closing in on 64 was looking at these, but they’re weird. So you’re vid was the perfect answer, especially since I’m 6’4” 280. Thanks!
Bro, I have been looking at the Rykers, but was concerned if my 6'5" self would be able to ride one. I am so glad you mentioned your size. Great vid. Thank you!
I come from riding high performance quads to this thing and still have a BLAST! I have a 2020 Rally 900. If she is ever looking for more power get a DynoJet PV3 and get a tune. Makes soooo much difference .
Our son has been riding motorcycles since he was a teen, but he had a crippling stroke five years ago which left his left side crippled to where he can no longer operate a clutch or a foot shifter. A few nights ago we bought him a new Ryker and I drove it 100 miles at night in and out of rain showers and 52 drgrees. The weather was not pleasant at all, but I still had a blast driving the Ryker. I own a HD Tri-Glide due to my wife's health issues which are many. But I think I enjoyed the Ryker more than my Harley. Who knows maybe a Ryker is in the future of this 69 old man. Such fun might even be illegal.
Like your enthusiasm & review. Have 2 wheels, maxi scooter & Spyder RT. My partner is going to get 600 Ryker and your video clenched the decision versus 300cc scooter.
Thank you for the video. I was thinking to get a honda groom for my wife but maybe she will feel more confident on the ryker. Best wishes for your Mom!
I personally own a honda monkey...videos on it soon. basically the same thing as the grom but didn't shape. anyway if you're looking to do any sort of highway riding..this is definitely better then the grom
I'm 6'2", 290. I have a 600 cc 2022 ryker. I get up to 60 in about 5 seconds without really trying. The engine is torqy so it might not have a high max speed but it gets up to speed pretty quick. I love my ryker. I feel like I'm riding an alien machine
Great review. Some very weird camera angles but I enjoyed your perspective. I just had my 2010 Spyder RTS go up in a ball of flames, seriously considering a Ryker though. Ryker looks like it would be a lot easier to work on and without as many computers as the Spyder there are less things to go wrong. Even a headlight bulb change on my Spyder was a 2 hour job with all the layers of tupperware you needed to peel off it what a PITA.
Thank you my guy I was about to get the 900 sport but I was iffy about the price and I thought the 600 ace was slow and crappie because I'm 300... 6 feet but after seeing having a blast on it I will definitely consider getting that
its definitely not the fastest thing. and personally I'd rather the ability to switch modes. but if you're looking for a budget, this lil machine definitely surprised me. its plenty zippy enough to get out. and ride. I topped it put at about 85mph
“My mom took my bike out and took it down, but she’s alright “ 🤯 bruh that’s the most gangster statement ever spoken about a grandmother!! Your moms a G my guy 😎
I've had dirt bike Harley-Davidson crotch rockets every kind of motorcycle that you can think of and when I went bought a Ryker 900 I fell in love more freedom than a motorcycle don't have to hold it up at stop signs don't have to worry about falling over
I have a 2021 600 and believe it or not it goes up to 95 and idk bout most folks that’s pretty damn fast for me lol…….if your looking for something faster just get a crotch rocket but the 600 is perfect for her!!! I have only 2k miles on it but when I ride I ride and it’s fun for sure 💯💯💯
Nice video, I'm waiting on an F3-S to arrive. The Ryker looks fun, I've not driven one yet. I'd be curious how it performs (the 600) with the addition of the Pedal Commander. That may be more than your mom can handle though!
@@Souperkire It looks impressive as-is, so I don't blame her for not tricking it out! You looked like you enjoyed riding - be cool to get one of your own and have group rides with your mom! Sounds corny as hell, but it would be a great story and I bet she would love it!
I got a 2021 F. -3S in November of last. It has been sitting in the garage on the battery tender, only got a couple of chances to ride it before the snow came. Love it, it’s pretty quick if you twist the throttle. I have been a Motorcycle ridder my entire life. Rode a Cushman scooter as a kid, LOL! It was bigger than me. I lived on. Dead end unincorporated street, so I could ride on the street or in the grass/dirt. I’m in my early 60’s now so the Spyder made a ton of sense for me. The 1330 Rotax has plenty of power and it has all the goodies, traction control, stability control, cruse control, you name it.
I am getting the ryker 600 for commuting next year I do not own a car and never will again I have a e bike for now witch is great for around town need something more
Hey how’d you film this? A drone? Next time your visiting your mom, do me a huge favor? Take a side shot of you sitting on the Ryker, adjusted how you like. Just wanna see if your forearms are resting on your legs or of big guys like us can really fit. Plus, glad your mom was OK, dropping the 800.
This is the future and fair play to your mother good on her.I do think your mother will need to hide her keys though.great film thank you.I just need to sell the idea to my wife MMMMMM
i am 71 y/o male i have that same bike and i hate it so much i parked it and bought a spyder yesterday . i dont like that its rpms are so high , it dont have a neutral and it sounds wierd . alot of people buy the ryker and and tons of stuff to it , why not buy an f3 or spyder . its fun to ride if tou dont mind plastic parts flying off of it .
Wife and I wanted 2 bikes and bought our Ryker Rallies spring of 2019. The dealership had one leftover Spyder on sale that my wife really liked But it was 7k more than what we paid for Both Rykers. Price is a Big factor when buying a Y style bike 👍 The motor is built for the RPMs so no problem there 👌 And we have never had any issues with any pieces Flying off 🤣 And yes you can put the shifter between forward and reverse to disengage the drive train. But it will easily roll with the shifter in any position.
haha. yea I was yesterday years old when I found out about the natural.. .she was practicing parking lot manuavers when she accidentally found it and thought she broke it.
I'm not an expert, but from what I gather is the rally is an all around better machine...better shocks more rider modes, the ability to turn them all off so it can "drift" imo it all really depends on your riding style.
I get asked this a lot. I'll have to do a video showing in detail....long story short I used a 360 cam in this particular video...but I use a combination of different angles and cameras
So im trying to decide on whether to get the 600 or 900. Longest riding would be 45 minutes to an hour, at no more than 70mph. Would there be any reason the 600 would not work
How is this filmed ? So cool. I’ve tested one in a parking lot. But I’m curious about wind and yes they steering. I have a four wheeler and it can reach 60+ mph so when you do reach higher speeds you fight it. Do you fight the bike?
rally or sport withe the 2up max 900. the rally is more.. hows this offroad, im sure it can do something on the trails lighteight, aybe pull plug abs trac
No offense to your mom but grainy don't need no nanny LOL because granny don't drive even her car at 100 + mile an hour and why would she ride her bike that way I'm personally looking at getting a bike like that myself one I think they're cool 2 why not a lot of people say good luck whipping a Can-Am spider or Riker I'm not saying it can't be done but the onboard Manny definitely makes it more of a challenge
@@Souperkire They are everything I expected. I grew up in Canada and spent many, many days tearing around on a sled. Down low, near the ground, tucked behind the engine tearing around. The ryker is as close to that as it gets. Doing thirty-five miles and hour will feel fast on narrow roads...
The Can Am Ryker is not a bike with Training wheels. It's a 3 wheel motorcycle!!. They look just as hard as the the Harleys when they dressed up and when they are crewed up together
Comparing a can am spyder to a motorcycle is like comparing a boat to a car...They're totally different and it's pointless to add peoples perception of which one is better. Do what's good for you not the jones 💫
Funny I think you need to try a Spyder f3s with all the trimmings... Then tell me these are gandma toys.. When you dont grin face to face after riding that , you are not a so called "biker"
Thanks for the professional advice, too bad that some people don't care. Here at the SouperKire channel we understand that, and do not judge. We understand every one has their own personal stories and reasons, and don't need to be told by some stranger on the internet what they should, or shouldn't do...I am not a financial advisor, I just know enough about how the buying process works that I am able to give some advice to save a few bucks, no matter what their situation is. Thank you for your comment and have a wonderful day.
Man, you're such a bad ass! Tearing people down for liking something different than you...bet you're SUPER bad ass on your Ninja 250... frickin choad...
