I have a 2020 RT Limited, bought in the Fall of 2020. I had the 5K service done last summer. Also, took delivery TODAY of the same Lugg and Roll trailer that you reviewed last year. It was your review that steered me in that direction. Thanks! Now, to put it together ... 😎

Great. You will not regret that purchase. Assembly is a snap. Did you get the roll up storage stand?
@al_little
@al_little 2 года назад
@@BikeBoatandTravel yes, got the stand. The only thing I got that you didn't was the rack for a cooler. How easy is it to move once on the stand? Would it be feasible to add wheels to it (like a flatbed dolly ...)?
@BikeBoatandTravel
@BikeBoatandTravel 2 года назад
Once you roll it up on the stand it is not moveable. The dolly is not a bad idea. If I have to move it in the winter I just lower it back down again. I suppose it depends on where it is stored. The first year I stored mine I took the tongue off so it would fit under the mezzanine in my garage. It was very awkward getting that back on in the spring as the metal gets a little bent during assembly. Bottom line if you can store it with the tongue on that would be my recommendation.

I have a 2015 f3 with 43k miles. So far I’ve been able to fix everything myself saving thousands in labor. So far I’ve done oil, brakes, air filter, fuel filter, fuel lines, spark plugs, camshaft position sensor, battery, tires, ball joints, brake rotors, all fluids, rear shock, belly pan, repaired fender brackets and tons of extra lighting. Love the bike and I hope to see 100k miles!

Wow! you do it all. Before the RT I had a 2016 F3 Ltd which was a great bike. The RT offers us a bit more in way of comfort especially for my riding partner. I hope to keep this bike for some time now and rack the kind of mileage you are doing. Thanks for your comment and your interest in the channel. 👍🇨🇦

I subbed a while ago. I’ve got a 2021 F-3S, bought it used with only 705 miles on it. Love it, gonna buy a Corbin front/rear saddle with back rest. Had one on my 1997 Valkyrie and loved it. Very $ but well worth the price. Wife and I could ride all day with no saddle sore. The back rest could be put in the drivers position when I ride alone. I really liked the quality and comfort.

I too have a '21 RTL. I had my oil changed at 3500 miles. I plan on oil changes at no more than 6000 miles. I wasn't comfortable with the recommended 6000 first/9000 regular oil changes. I paid about $300 USD at the dealer.
@BikeBoatandTravel
@BikeBoatandTravel 2 года назад
The first change at 3500 Miles is pretty close to mine at 5000Km. I usually would never put on more than the recommended in a season as mine is tucked away in the garage during winter. I always changed the oil on mg F3 before winter storage and will follow the same pattern with the RT. Thanks for you comment and for your interest in the channel.

Thank you for the great reviews. I am picking up my new 2022 RT Limited this coming Tuesday, the 23s are not even in yet and they were offering a 0% for 60 mos. loan. The only parts that are not on the bike yet are the heated arm rests. Looking forward to riding it.

I live near Tulsa, OK. Usually it is very cold this time of year but has been very pleasant lately. Yes this is my 1st Spyder. I bought it to tour around with my wife, and check out the sights. I am also going to ride in the Run For The Wall in May, which goes from Calif. to Washington D.C. for the Memorial Day weekend. I have ridden it 3 times on my Yamaha FJR 1300, and am ready for a more comfortable riding experience.

Well my friend if you are after comfort you have made a good choice. We had an F3 before the RT. and my wife and riding partner is very comfortable back there. We are doing Western Canada this summer from where we live in Ontario.

That is a mighty fine looking RT if I do say so myself 👍👍 Your first service cost sounds pretty good to me, mine was about $350 US. Then my rear tire last fall was about $350 US, and my 2nd service this spring was about $350 US... I'm seeing a pattern 😳🤣🤣 You do a great job on your Spyder reviews Fraser 👏👏

@BikeBoatandTravel 2 года назад
Thanks Wayne. Question. How many miles did you get out of that tire? I have met up with other rider that are telling me they getting down to the wear mark faster. I got 25,000 Km. (15500 miles) from the rear tire on my 2016 F3.
@SpyderWayne
@SpyderWayne 2 года назад
@@BikeBoatandTravel I got ONLY 9,500 miles on that rear tire, the center of the tire was just barely down to the wear bar, my inspection was due, it failed inspection so I had to replace it. Jody (Purple On Three) got about 14,000 miles on her rear tire. Towing my camper contributed some to my tire wear though, but you've got a cargo trailer, so you did very well with your rear tire. Anything over 10,000 miles (rear) is good.
@BikeBoatandTravel
@BikeBoatandTravel 2 года назад
@Spyder Wayne I agree. It does take the brunt of the wear. Riding two up AND the trailer..... maybe I should carry a spare LOL LOL. Hey how about that Jody hitting the 1K sub mark. She leaving us in her Purple Dust!!! Cheers Mate and safe riding.... Fraser 👍🇨🇦

The price about comparable to my 2020 RTL here in Florida for the 3K mile inspection. The following oil change one year later I did myself, changing the drain plugs to Lamonster's hex head which have the magnetic option as well. Makes subsequent oil change way easier without fear of stripping the heads. You may want to leave the long reach bars as they are, but you can loosen the four head bolts and raise them just a tad to miss the leg in a hard turn.

I changed the plugs on my F3 for the same reason. I like your idea for the handlebars. Thanks

Great information about that first inspection. I am still in the initial break-in period as I only have about 700km on my 2022. Not sure however if I wait for that first 5000km or do as suggested in the owner's manual and have it inspected after 1000km
@BikeBoatandTravel
@BikeBoatandTravel 2 года назад
I had a look at the manual and saw that suggestion after 1000. However, the manual refers you to the Maintenance Schedule (p98) but there is nothing there referring to what needs to be done a 1000 specifically. I suppose you could run through the 5K items minus the oil change. Thanks for your comment and your interesting the channel.

So, I was talking with my salesman and he said that 1000kms thing is bull💩 he said either 5000kms or at the end of the year b4 you put it away for winter. That 1000kms is nothing but a money grab really 🤷 there's another RU-vid guy who works on them daily said same thing (Shawn Smoak)
@BikeBoatandTravel
@BikeBoatandTravel 2 года назад
That was my thinking also. I think the 5000 is important. I did it on my F3 an obviously on this bike also. I am a follower of Shawn Smoak also. IMHO, he is probably the most reliable source of information for Spyders. Enjoy your ride. Cheers

@@BikeBoatandTravel the only problem I'm having is my bike is in, but missing the park break module and reverse module so it's just sitting on the shop floor. Now, you follow Smoak, his wife rides a Freewheeler and I really like that but again, nobody has any in stock, I talked with Rockys in London,ON and they said hopefully by the end of June, so if my Spyder isn't ready by then I might go test ride it and if I like it, 🤷

@@macwiller2105 I don't have any experience with that trike configuration. But every time I see them my mind always goes back to the three wheeled ATV's..... and we all how that story ended. Hold out for your Spyder... you won't regret it.

I ordered a 22 RT Limited, it's at the dealership BUT you hit the nail on the head, it's missing the park break module and reverse module.. bikes been sitting in the dealer shop floor for 4 weeks now and was told at least another few weeks 😠

On a 30k vehicle that doesn’t have seatbelts, airbags, or a roll cage by a certified Can-Am technician who works on these as a living and is specifically trained of the ins and outs of these machines. Peace of mind priceless.
