Very cool! Only things I've seen in those vacuums are balloons and marshmallows. Cool to see a demonstration displaying characteristics of sound instead!

There's nothing for the sound to travel in. I think a more interesting experiment would be showing how sound travels faster in water, that's at least something you don't learn from *any* scifi show/movie/critique of George Lucas over the last 50 years.

Sound waves can only travel through a medium. So we need air for the sound waves to travel. With no air, there is no sound.
