Good. I’m glad activation lock is a thing. Thieves and pickpockets in my area stopped targeting iPhones and phones in general for that very reason.

That’s the reason they made it in the first place. I just hate that some people will sell their phone but still be signed into their account, so unless you had a way of contacting the seller, you’d be kind of stuck

So they're just sitting there on the shelf for looks. Can't really use them (even though you couldn't really use them anyway cause of their age)

Activation lock can be removed by submitting proof of purchase. That's is why always ask for a invoice copy of purchasing an iPhone or make sure the primary device owner have removed the device from their account.

Apple needs to chill with some of these locks. Like they should be able to contact the owner through iCloud. Stating location and reason, so the owner could drop by to catch the culprit if there is a stolen device or not.

REWA showed that if you replace the storage chip, and overwrite the data to a clean new chip and solder that one on the board you have a unlocked cellphone. My local shop around the corner offers this service to this date for at least iPhone 12 and lower.

I saw a great proposal for how to fix this. The buyer has to contact apple. Apple contacts the previous owner who's icloud is on the device. The previous owner can either let them unlock it or keep it locked. If the owner doesn't respond within a week, it is assumed they won't respond, and the device is unlocked.

I have some advice for people who buy a new phone, please restart your phone to test the jailbroken status, most of the time the jailbreak iphone cannot survive restart and needs to be jailbroken again, and make sure you get to enter your own icloud infront of the seller before leaving

I read that M1 chip can be unlocked by re-soldering , reprograming and soldering again. Maybe A12 and higher can be unlocked the same way ?

Hey! I just wanted to add something: It is possible to unlock an iphone that is locked with icloud by buying and replacing with an unlocked motherboard. There are plenty of them available on aliexpress for example... The only problem is that face id is linked to the motherboard so by changing it we lose face id, unless we take a combo motherboard / face id which is also available! It works but it has an important cost, and even more important if you want to keep face id. I don't advise this method because we are never sure of anything but as a last resort it could be useful....

Bypassed, not unlocked but there are several methods varying from open menu bypasses and software bypasses from incloud locked screen Only models 5-x are supports as well as most iPads up to 7th gen Nothing on iOS 14.9 or newer etc… You can retain cellular function but it’s a more exspensive bypass Anytime a bypasses device is restored the original iCloud will come back as well Mdm removals are also possible as well as Samsung frp unlocks but servers are tricky

A few years ago my little cousin died in a car accident. Her phone was locked and her parents wanted her last photos. I found someone in Hong Kong that “unlocked” the phone but he actually reset the motherboard. Phone could be used again but was wiped, so it was useless.

You can but you will need proof of purchase. If you do, you will have to bring it to a apple location. The manager will check the purchase and see if he or she will unlock the phone.

Majority of them are scams and are not 100% effective. The only way you can effectly remove the apple ID from a device is asking someone you personally know that works for Apple to look up the device and get them to remove the activation lock on their servers so it is no longer associated with the device. But that's too risky and could put that employee's job on the line.

Yea you can unlock it. It is a well know service done here in Jamaica where person with stolen iPhone upgrade the iphone(idk how) n it will unlock. Clearly apple isn’t as secure as it thought it was cuz it done here in Jamaica by the minute n that market is always alive.

I had this once on an IPhone 13 Pro. Just click volume down button and volume up button, then hold the power button, keep holding it, even when you see the Apple logo. After this, you will see a screen that says you need to plug it into a computer. Plug it into a computer, in iTunes it will say that you can update and restore, and it’s that easy, just let it do its magic. Your phone is factory reset and the iCloud lock is removed.

Consider all the negatives though. Firstly, this lock doesn't help you get the phone back, once its been stolen its still out of your hands. Apple should allow phones to be reset, this way people buying used phones don't get dealt with this crap.

Personally I don’t support jailbreak on iPhone, because it removes almost ALL security features and you theoretically open a gate to hackers. It’s like installing LPG on a new La Ferrari (LPG is a special gas installation for cars to run cheaper, but it destroys the engine. Commonly used on very cheap cars). If you want to jailbreak an iPhone, you can, but you run the risk of being hacked by someone.

If you are able to execute the proper installation of CFW that isn't Apple os then maybe you will be fine but they still might be able to send out a ping that will permanently fry some of the hardware. They have been able to do things like that for years now but it's not a guarantee and what makes it less likely that they will send out that kind of ping once you have CFW installed is that most people don't have any kind of information or access that would put them in danger or be something that they would find particularly important.

Actually apple can take the activation lock off now. However you have to have proof that you bought the device from a “reputable” source. Now what counts as reputable is a good question.

One my friends sold me an activation locked android (he told me before and offered it for $5, was his cousins who got locked out or something) Was able to just get into the settings through assistive touch (whatever it's called) settings and the task manager equivalent, and was able to just end the service that locked it lol, then just sign in and done

On an open iphone with no passcode or a known passcode BUT icloud if not yours , do a jailbreak then get a file manager ( filza ) next ( / : var : mobile : accounts ) locate these delete the 3 files u will see, before deleting turnoff filza recycle bin , the icloud should be removed after it ,😎 ( atleast temporarily ) also u can use ur ID
