Starr is on the same level as Jack Gleeson. Masterful portrayal of what every villain should look like in movies/shows and are a very rare occurrence in media. We hate to love them and love to hate them. Every villain should awaken these emotions in an audience.
Realistically i dont think theyll give Starr that emmy not because he doesnt deserve it. He'll for sure get a nomination if not a huge mention, but the thought of a comic book character/superhero winning a "prestigious award" would be insulting to every old Hollywood star. Maybe im a little too harsh with that wording, but i still feel its gonna ring true. He'll get the nomination, but not the nod itself
"but the thought of a comic book character/superhero winning a "prestigious award" would be insulting to every old Hollywood star." Isn't this the reason some people think awards are bullshit though? Interesting and unique ideas can take many forms. If an authoritative body doesn't recognize the value of an expression due to superficialities, it's the authoritative body that is broken. But I feel like you already know this. Yeah, the wording is harsh, but I agree it also rings a little true. Oh well, those emmy guys can do what they like.
short answer: yes Long answer: yes because he has somehow managed to portray a comic book character on camera, to a flawless degree. That's a tall order btw. That comic book character is also a complete fucking looney that could kill every person on earth if he wanted to.
