Great video. It allowed me to switch my career to a new one late in my life, I struggled with the question if I was smart enough be able to pick it up, then I just decided to try it, it took me a while, but I finally was able to get my first job. The biggest problem I found out with learning to code is that most beginners quit too early. So if you are just starting out and not seeing much progress in your first year, don't give up. It took me couple of years to start understanding the basics.

I will tell you my experience , hated coding , was kinda scared at how it looks , i am a mechanical engineer so never thought I'll do coding until the moment I started it , started with python , took me 3 months to develop every concept , including oops and readme tkinter stuff . Now i am so loving coding ,although i am not that advanced i have reached to a certain level that now I'll start making my iwn projects and stuff . Learned API deployment and stuff . All i wanna say is that , if i did this you can do it . Dont believe what anyone saying to you ,try yourself . And its easy .

I thought that after completion of my MCA in 2013 my career is now altogether stop as i wont have any experience of relevant field but really your encouragement works alot for a person like me.. i am a computer teacher in senior secondary school and from here i got opportunity to deal with data so i started building micro level analysis using excel where i got to know about myself that i am a data person.. now i am learning everything from codebasics . No, never. These story creates optimism inside anyone but truth is Most of the time google, Microsoft, CIA, NSA, IBM always hire pure computer science graduate who has sufficient skill and knowledge in programming. Which is rare in self taught programmer.

data scientists will be doing more programming then analyst. In some companies data analysts will do very less programming. Also compared to software engineer data scientists will do relatively less coding but in general data scientists should be sound in coding

What you said is very inspiring sir. But what we need is guidance and possible ways to geton in india. I am at the age of 39 still have zeal of achieving something in the field of programming. I need to know how to fix deadlines , so that I can finish basic learning and start projects.

Dear Kavya, you should fix daily hours for learning. Let’s say based on your routine, you can decide 2/3 hours for learning. Try to fix topics in specific timeline. It has to be your first priority as we might get many uncertain priorities but learning has to be at the top. Forget about the age as it is just a number and you can learn anytime.

It is definitely a good idea to start him on coding.see I used to go to a public library to teach python and there was 8 year old kid who used to come to learn python and he was really good. At early age if he learns programming he will be ahead in the game when he grows up!

Not everyone can learn to code. If one’s IQ is, say, below 90, one will not be coding. That is just a biological fact. Heck, even all university students (IQ average over 110) do not learn to code. I have sen this happen year after year. Coding is inherently difficult beyond the very very basics.

@@OTB2002 Well, it correlates with the kind of cognition required for logical thinking and problem solving, which programming, in turn, is. IQ research is a pretty mature topic in psychology, and so we know what each IQ level entails in humans. We know, too, what programming requires. So, there you go. Smart != IQ. Programming asks IQ, not some random “smartness”, what ever that is in which ever context.

@@mechantl0up to know someones iq u need to take a test and there’s different test to see someone’s (iq) so if a random scored a low mark on a specific test all he needs to do is revise and keep taking the test over and over again to get a higher score so please tell me how the iq test shows how smart a person really is. Why are u acting like u can’t keep practicing you’re problem solving skills until it improves.

Manoj, think this way. Is there anything you are going to loose? Nothing. You learn coding online on youtube that way you are not paying money. Also when you learn it you will build some skills that will be helpful in the future anyway. So I would say just try it out. Python is the most easiest programming language. In youtube search "codebasics python tutorials", for hindi videos "codebasics python hindi tutorials" you will find my videos that are very very easy to understand. I wish you all the best my friend

Stratos, can you try to learn python? Python is 100 times much easier to learn compared to other programming languages. Also when you learn any language, initially learning will be slow so you need to have lot of patience and perseverance
