Psychedelics don't let me "broken" and they don't make me more "miserable" than before, they actually help me to understand my true nature of existence and help me understand myself in ways that I have never seen before with anything else, after a psychedelic experience I feel better than before because I get knowledge that help me to know how to live a better life

@@Alexbordongarrigos Yes going through the front door by silencing the mind (all chatter and judgement) until there is nothing left... but you! That is a challenging task for many, and obviously the more sustainable and powerful way to connect to the divine. So until that happens, the psychedics are gonna give you the back door "instant gratification" version of the experience, which is awesome, but definitely NOT the sustainable way.

Alex, no, they don't break YOU. They SHATTER the reality that you've created over your whole life in an instant. Really, meditation is about slowly taking that reality apart, brick by brick, or with a sledge hammer at times if needed. It's a much more gentle process then a drugs tend to be. Also, people tend to be able to more easily incorporate the lessons learned from meditation vs doing a substance because it's more gradual.
@paimonspie8913

yeah, it just depends how prepared you are for it and if you have a positive subconsious or not, but as someone who has taken them, I agree that you can achieve the same enlightenment and healing through meditiation. we all learn and experience the same thing differently and i think if people wanted to experience psychedelics go them but personally I think deep meditation has done the same for me! :)

The biggest problem with people is that they are so lazy and complacent they have zero mystical experience. They do not even know this domain exists. So they have no will to meditate seriously. A psychedelic experience can give you a glimpse that shows you what's possible. It's an immense motivation for many to actually start this journey and to take it seriously.

Exactly. You explain an important factor that Sadhguru missed completely. Psychedelics are not a 100% solution but a catalyst for self-growth. Some people are too stuck in their old ways to listen to any new perceptions, and therefore it must be “shown” to them.

I became tremendously depressed after my 1st LSD experience because I didn't know how to handle it but after I met Shiva on my 2nd, that is where I started building my own foundation back which is far more beautiful than words can express. If you are already someone walking through life healthy and spiritual the meditation method can get you there without aid. If you are addicted, conflicted, and have a bunch of bad habits and trauma you may need an aid. Psychedelic are great for a first step but the goal should always be to get to those experiences just by you. We have the ability we just have to be still enough and open enough to allow the experiances to enter our heart space.

@@celticdeamon567 Perhaps you misunderstood me. All of this experience is part of brahman. there is nothing separate from Brahma. Anything that appears separate from brahma is still brahma. This universe is part of Brahma, LSD Is part of this universe. LSD is just one part of brahma's total experience, I have realised Brahma, and I have realised that there is nothing outside of the experience of Brahman. This knowledge along liberated me from needing ANY from of external tool to ease, what I thought was, suffering. I'm not necessarily saying that Brahmah is above LSD, that would make no sense. I am simply saying that LSD Is part of brahmah and does not give as much pleasure as knowing brahmah alone. LSD, psychedelics and drugs are included within Brahmah, but this doesn't make them inherently good things on their own. Rape is included in Brahmah, and nobody can say rape is good, yes? Nor does anybody say that "Brahmah is good" Brahmah is just brahmah, goodness is included within him. I think, most people understood my message but I should have put it across clearer. LSD helped with removing the ignorance that the mind is the self, this task did not require the knowledge of Atma Bodha, but rather experience from WITHOUT the mind. This is dangerous and I donn't recomend people loosing their minds, unless they're ready for it and skilled. I was. I wanted this experience and have no regrets, where it has leaded me is complete solace and contentless knowing in my true self as tat tvam asi. Exploration begins at realisation.

I’ve done over 50 plant medicine ceremonies (ayahuasca, San Pedro, peyote, Santo daime, psilocybin, Kambo) and very rarely thrown up. I’ve never felt addicted to any of the plants- quite the opposite in fact. I’m forced to feel the emotions and energies in the mind that I had suppressed. Now after all that experience, I have reached a point where my practice is just sitting and not interfering with my mind. It took all that to get to this point of simplicity I suppose. Back then I felt a desperation to get enlightened so I would push myself to the brink with the medicine, thinking I could accelerate the process. But now I realize that just to sit and close my eyes and allow everything to be as it is, is the actual shortcut. Infinite patience leads to immediate results ❤

Ayahuasca is a teacher in the same way that Sadhguru is one. Thinking that Ayahuasca is THE path is like thinking that Sadhugur is THE path: They are not. They are just beings (one is a plant, the other a human) with a higher consciousness trying to guide and show the way to those who are seeking. But ayahuasca alone (or watching Sadhguru's videos and doing mindless yoga alone) will not take you anywhere. At the end of the day, each of us has to walk our own path. The work is a personal process - regardless of the teacher. Guru's (and plant teachers) are just there to provide a map and a clear light so we can walk without falling so much. That's all. I've done ayahuasca 50+ times, working at a medicine community in the mountains of Colombia and I have seen both cases: People who have drank the medicine 100s of times and are still where they started People who drink it once, do their work, and completely transform their life. (we're talking suicidal people, depressive ones, criminals and more literally turning their life around after a profound experience) I'm sure the same happens at the Isha institute - there's plenty of amazing people who have grown so much from the practices.. And there's the rest who may be doing the practices but aren't really committed about their internal growth. Again, you don't need ayahuasca to grow spiritually... But you also do not need Sadhguru either. The truth is that in these times, a little help does not hurt. :)

I have taken ayahuasca for over 7 years now, and I can say: Sadhguru is right. But then, so am I. It's not for everyone and it requires a lot of care and skill on the part of the shaman in order to really being a healing experience. If you ask me, I'll say it's extraordinary and that everybody should try it; but then again it's not wrong not wanting to try; it's a matter of perspective. My opinion on this issue really doesn't matter, neither does Sadhguru's - only your opinion matters. If you wanna try ayahuasca, do it; I only strongly recommend you look for a serious professional, research his background and ensure he's serious and a true healer, and only do it if it's in a proper setting and you feel really comfortable - taking ayahuasca is a ritual. I totally recommend against taking it to get high, it was not made for that and will give you serious trouble.

After my experience with Iboga, I actually experienced (not as a mental concept) that half of my breathing apparatus hangs on a tree, literally like Sadhguru says all the time. My Iboga experience actually motivated me to pursue spirituality further and I enrolled myself in Inner Engineering. I have been doing Shambhavi Mahamudra daily for the last one year since and never had any urge to participate in a Iboga ceremony again. So, in my opinion, plant medication can act as the first step in your spiritual journey but a powerful practice like Shambhavi Maha Mudra is needed for you to make real progress. I say first step because I’m sure most people can’t even comprehend what Sadhguru’s actually talking about because they have never experienced any space between themselves and their psychological drama. So they won’t have the motivation to follow through a spiritual practice like Shambhavi because they have never even had a glimpse of what’s on the other side. For example, once you experience something like accessing Akashik records even temporarily, you will become sufficiently motivated to pursue a spiritual practice diligently. That type of experience will stay with you for life 🙂

Sadhguru gets that right. The body is intelligent enough to produce sufficient portion of DMT as reaction to asceticism or some sort of sadhana. If you use drugs its always an invasion with more or less bad consequences. The guru does not need direct experience with Ayahuasca because there is an archive in unconsciousness plane where every human experience is inscribed. On certain level you can dwell there and experience whatever you want. This priviledge have mystics all over world to taste the richness of the life and to be able to give it up...

DMT saved my life. It brought me from being an atheist to someone highly spiritual. Made me get off hard drugs and completely change the way I carry myself in every aspect towards the positive. I had a lot of trauma since I was a child and it was holding me back and I was able to work through it because of DMT and mushrooms. I realized the powerful potential with them and respected it. It was absolutely not recreational but 100% therapeutic. When I say it saved my life I truly mean that. I’ve never thrown up. I disagree with this video.

So many people think im crazy when I tell them DMT has the potential to help someone quit drugs if they seriously want to change, and some people only want to change after the experience, if you don’t want to share I understand it’s highly personal and im glad you got your life back! One cannot ignore the therapeutic value of psychedelics in a proper mindset and setting. One shouldn't use it as a shortcut to enlightenment although it's easy to see it that way. Namaskaram @Sadhguru - may I ask (most respectfully) if you have received ayahuasca from a traditional shaman? I Am appreciative of you sharing your perspective & if you have not yet had a direct experience with this plant medicine, this commentary is a personal opinion - no different than if an ayahuasca shaman who never meditated shared his opinion on meditation based on how he perceived it to be without ever trying it himself 🙏 We need to be clear about this because many devotees & followers who watch these wonderful videos and attend satsangs may close the door on an experience that I have personally found to be beneficial alongside a daily meditation practice. I can see how your message may be confused as dismissing a spiritual practice that carries a very long lineage of ancestral wisdom that is intended to expand one’s consciousness at an organic pace, especially when facilitated by a guide who is well trained - similar to the benefits of meditation. Ayahuasca is not meditation & vice versa, so we cannot compare apples to oranges. Bless you for your courage to speak on a topic of tremendous spiritual significance & sacredness 🙏 May we all enjoy a prosperous spiritual life, honoring each way of retuning to love 💗 Many blessings & aloha from Hawai’i 🌈 Giuliano

Not at all. You don't need to experience death in order to know that falling from Eiffel tower hurts you. There is nothing spirtual about it . It only makes the spiritual path harder than any common man. It makes your mind control you than the other way around. You will face incredible distortion on reality. The very fact that you want to take psychedelics is a psychological aspect that contains desire for shortcuts, quick solutions ,intention. So DMT creates a delusion which makes you feel content but in truth you are under the deeper illusion of mind. You lack the comprehension to understand the profoundness of spirituality.

I appreciate your view on these hallucinogens, however, experience with some of these substances can truly change your life from misery to joy. Not that it should be used constantly, but when someone's mind is so full of constant chatter and their body is incredibly out of balance chemically, this can bring them back to a level playing field, where they may be able to heal. It can be an indication of how the body and the self are different.

Now I know the essence of who I was , who I am and who I will always be, with this enlightenment is now inevitable.... In this lifetime or the nextsss.. I will be going on a Ayahuasca retreat next month... Looking forward to it. There is so much to be said. Just do it, be an observer when doing it so that you don't fall into a dream state and fall into delusion. If you fall into delusion you will think what is happening is real and be scared. Fear will cause you not to learn what is being taught. There is no good or bad experience. If you go into it with a mindset of compassion and have worked on the wrongs that you've committed no matter how bad they may seem you will be forgiven because they will see what's in your heart.

Dearest Sadhguru, I wanted to tell you that I follow you a lot and admire you, you are contributing to the growth of my spirit and that of millions of people. I recently attended a 12 day ayahuasca retreat/diet. Having previously participated in a vipassana meditation retreat, I found many similarities between the two experiences. To the point of considering them complementary. From my humble point of view I believe that traditions so different but both so ancient and wise can find points in common having the aim of healing the spirit and the soul. The Amazonian medicine center that I visited has as its objective the treatment of drug addictions for which a six-month retreat is foreseen. The "vomitive" part of the cleanse involves only two hours of the entire 12-day process. The ayahuasca ceremony itself lasts 4 to 6 hours. I agree that the plant elevates the mind and then everything returns to normal. But the days following the intake of ayahuasca are of meditative isolation and silence in the Amazon forest, and, with the help of psychologists, they are used to analyze and metabolize the intuitions that the plant suggests and amplifies. Each era has a different approach to resources. Today in the field of "Western" medical research we are rediscovering how LSD itself can be used in medicine for research on mental disorders. As well as for ayahuasca and addictions. To date, the ayahuasca ceremonies only partially retain the ritual aspect that dates back to more than 2000 years ago. In the center that I visited in Peru it is mostly used to help with the analysis directed by psychoanalysts to overcome addictions to substances such as alcohol, marijuana, etc., as already mentioned. Therefore I can only draw positive conclusions at the regard. Having known people who after the treatment have overcome this problem. Finally, I believe that, like all things, it is the intention with which one approaches this type of experience that makes the difference. Having said that, I will not stop meditating and following your precious advice. Dear greetings. David

She healed many wounds in my heart on the most subtle levels beyond any verbal instructions, and revealed things to me that i thought i know (in my mind) on a cellular level inside my body. Sounds even strange to put it in words. No addiction. You can look up on the internet. No one who took it ever claimed that Ayahuasca is addictive, its even scientifically confirmed. Many people stopped drinking alcohol or taking other harmful drugs after having worked with Ayahuasca. She doesn't do all the work for you though. Like a real Guru... she reminds you of your essence, she opens you inner eye, so that you become aware of what is to be done... and then it is on you to implement those insights you were given. Whereas SadhgGuru is a guide. You don't have to 💯 percent agree with him on everything and don't have to be dependent on him but you can of course take his words of wisdom and seek the truth for yourself. You can automatically experience a lot of things in this case whereas on those methods, you NEED these herbs which gives you some experience.

For example caffine gives u a state of high but, eventually u come back to pre caffine stages and become dull. There are many people who changed their life after doing pyschedelics but, there are also people who did this stuff again and again and became addicts. It is very simple ,do u want a long and sustainble solution or a quick fix. Popping a pill or herb always has affects on body. It's not enteriley psychodelic (not recreational at all), to me it was much more mental, which make me question a lot of things I didn't had the courage to do before. Afterwards I felt less fragmented and much more complete. I do believe meditation is the only tool we need but intention is the most important thing when exploring the unconcious. I know this medicine heal people in a wide range of experiences but if you use the tools around you with a strong intention the results will follow. Wishing you all well.

He is absolutely right. Psychedelics put a strain in the body and mind, they tax the system in exchange for a temporary experience. Plus nobody mentions the "bad trip" experience which accounts for a large percentage of these psychedelic trips. Lazy people wanting an easy way in... While sober meditation requires work, it can actually grant existential experiences while enhancing the body, mind and energy system, as well as allowing you to access these experiences at will in an integrated manner. Stop confusing a psychological shakeup with a spiritual experience. But what can you expect from people that identify themselves with the body and mind at most? Remember: anything that is truly worthwhile will require you to work for it wholeheartedly (not just popping a pill lol)

I do know Ayahuasca and can say it’s 100% not necessary and extremely dangerous. I know spiritual healers who say it does more harm to people than good. Especially since they have to help repair people after they use it. Some people also get demonic entities attached to them during the experience. What I also didn’t know until recently is that It blows out your crown chakra every time, and that takes a long time to repair. People can meditate and with due time get the same effects on their own, especially when it’s combined with certain styles of breath work. Wim Hoff speaks about how he can produce his own DMT naturally. Also, Dr. Joe Dispenza’s meditations can get the same effects happening that ayahuasca can do and you don’t have to worry about demonic possession happening, as you do need to worry about when you do Ayahuasca.

There is consensus within spiritual masters, sages yogis etc that there is no other way other than sobriety to reach your spiritual fulfillment. Of course you can recur to different drugs or natural medicines to reach heightened mental, emotional and spiritual states that can provide healing, epiphanies or profound insights into your specific situation. But at the end, everything you need to reach some sort of enlightened personal state and pierce the veil of illusion is inside you. You cant depend on anything else outside of you. If you break the mind with chemicals, you might perceive something, but it will be momentary, short lived and not very genuine, even if it seems real at the moment. If you feel like only through external substances you can reach advanced states of consciousness, then you know its the ego talking.

Yes, but most people in our age are not inclined to practice any spiritual teachings or knowledge. If they do they're research on these psychedelic substances and go into it with an open mind it can possibly show them a different pov of themselves and/or reveal to them that they need to work on themselves,then starts the self-improvement journey which eventually leads spiritual teachings

I think Sadghuru is a bit narrow minded here. Not everyone can sit there like he did, some people need a spark, a push, an experience to open them up to this possibility of the mystical world.

As much as Sadhguru knows, here when referencing Ayahuasca, an ancient and highly beneficial plant medicine, he knows little but still speaks as if he knows. Somas, his own ancestors knew, in South America it was Ayahuasca.

Unless you’ve ever done Ayahuasca, (Psilocybin 🍄, or LSD) you shouldn’t be opining about how it doesn’t help humans heal PTSD, trauma, depression and addictions.
@petaruric9991
@petaruric9991 3 года назад
It helps, but it doesn't heal fully. It saturates you with new experiences, but doesn't fully clean the old patterns. For exhample, it can be a good addition to spiritual life, if you have a strong character, so it doesn't become a bad habit. But in the end, you have a problem of every psychodelic being a poison to your body - so it has a potential to damage your system. Not a very reliable technique, but can save lives when in deep depression or some other disbalance .

Sometimes if a leg is broken, it needs to get a surgery, so there is no "homeopathy" treatment. Sometimes, when the mind is too much confused and the person is struggeling over Years trying to help himself with Yoga, psychological support and so on, it might help a "push" in a way of a deep diving reset to clear the mind like a restart of a computer. And in this case such psychoedelic treatment like Ayahuasca could help finding the way out from the trap. This shamanic way is seen just like "push", and not getting addicted to it. Its clear after that, the journey starts by beeing conscious, doing Yoga, eat the right non convenience food and take care of the mental Hygiene...

It is unfortunate that you sound derisive, when I hope that was not your intention, as when you have such power, as you do, it can cause fear & judgement, & we are not called to fear but to love. Of course love & peace are the end of all searching & humans are such that they are curious and seek expansion. How wonderful & awful to be human. How very blessed we are. Sat nam

The vomiting is only one way the medicine purifies the body. It depends on each individual and the amount of purification one needs. Some people don’t vomit at all. Even if you do, it’s only part of it (usually in the beginning). He does not talk about the profound teachings, insights, beautiful experiences and total bliss and oneness with the universe you can have with ayahuasca because then you would do that instead of going to his workshops.

Ayahuasca gives you a glimpse of what the human mind is capable of perceiving... unconditional love, wholeness, death of ego, connectedness to all living beings including animals, planet earth, demons, aliens, heightened psychic abilities, karma, past lives, becoming one with the food you eat afterwards. There is a consequence...an attachment to the blissful experience, and a drive to get back to that state, while others maybe lost in the past and attached to the perceived negative experience, which can lead to mental problems. I'd like to experience it again without puking my guts out, hence why I'm meditating. Sadhguru has described many of my Ayahuasca experiences in his sessions....I hope to get there again without relying on anything outside of me. 💖

By all neccessary respect, Sadhguru, in this certain case I would strongly recommend you to do an ayahuasca ceremony with a real shaman first before coming to an incomplete and misleading conclusion. The „high“ as you call it might be of short-term in nature but the experience as a whole is definitely NOT. It can have permanent effects and for most of the participants it is an absolutely lifechanging and positive experience. Reading comments here that due to your video some people will not try it out for themselves worries me a lot as many people certainly would profit from taking part at such a ceremony although for sure it is not for everyone. You are giving the impression it is some kind of a fancy acid trip for fun addicts but be assured that it has absolutely nothing to do with it. The shamanic tradition has over 5.000 years of history and experience which even you could (and probably should) learn from. This video was discrespectful and in the worst case harmful as people who are in dire need for relief are now scared. Please be aware of your responsibility as many people love and follow you! Thank you.

Ayahuasca is not always about purge. It happens sometimes, or it may never happen. Depends on the person. I know a master who drank 1 liter of a very strong Ayahuasca and conducted an immensely beautiful ceremony without any sign of purge. But I saw masters who have been drinking ayahuasca in a regular basis for over 50 years getting out of the temple to puke after only a cup of tea. It's very subjective, then main purpose of Ayahuasca is to transcend to the divine realms, not to purge. Love & blessings 🙏

I’m pretty sure he’s saying that they can help you see different dimensions of life but they won’t help you reach spiritual enlightenment . He would rather you experience awareness over artificial awareness. It’s like becoming a professional chef without having actually cooked, you should move forward with awareness and experience rather than try to speed up the process of enlightenment

It seems to me that this man plays a character called 'Sadhguru' in which this person is always right, no exception. If it's true that he hasn't experienced ayahuasca, then surely he can't possibly claim to be right like he seemingly does so. An even wiser man would say that he does not know? I feel energy from his talks that he is using his position of influence to get high off always being the one that is right and getting praise from others. My bet is that he is stuck in what I believe to be the last phase of ego, which is to always be right. If so, he does this to feel grandiose, feel 1-up to his followers to keep feeding his ego which lacks sense of worthiness deeper down. I've also noticed that his entire channel here is just all about being right and the most wise. It's a shame really, I don't get a sense of guidance or grace from him. I have found much more valuable lessons and growth and healing through the teachings and guidance from Alan Watts, Ram Dass and Eckhart Tolle.

Ayahuasca showed me enlightenment, it allowed me to experience it. It then spoke through me and told me “You don’t need anything, you don’t need anything... You don’t need to take anything to be here. This is you.” What an incredible gift it is to meet yourself, and to realise he's always been with you. Everyone’s experience is different and maybe it’s not for you, but I’d be lying if I told you that it wasn’t for me a spiritual experience of the highest order. I’ve adopted a sober lifestyle and have never been more in tune with life and myself. Meditation is the key to yourself and therefore to enlightenment, I won’t argue with Sadhguru about that, but it was ayahuasca that thought me to integrate that. This is a medicine for the body, but it is more importantly and specifically a medicine for the mind which is a gateway to the soul. This medicine doesn't fix the mind but it can set you on a path to doing so. As others have pointed out "Psychedelics can give you a peak into the garden… but if you want to stay in the garden, you gotta do the work" This is also for me the true wisdom of this video.

I disagree that it is addictive. I disagree that it makes you broken afterward. I had very beautiful feelings and experiences after having the medicine. I think it can help you realize profound levels of understanding. I don't think it's a chemical that beats our mind down. We have natural receptors in our brain for DMT. It is natural for us to connect with that medicine. I have experienced the need for an integration period but I have never felt dysfunctional afterward. I think he paints a narrow picture.

I only started watching videos like this because of my time with the medicine. For those that can just get to that state of mind on their own and find inner peace, that's great and I applaud them. I wasn't able to and would be dead if it wasn't for ayahuasca. Now that I'm on the other side of the experience, I now can start to be able to try and maintain that state of mind on my own. But some people just need a little extra help.
