Can Baking Soda Clean Concrete Driveway? I've asked myself that question many times. Baking soda has so many uses that I figured cleaning a concrete driveway might be one of them. Today I decided to find out. I was a little worn out from some summer flu or something and couldn't do much. I figured I'd throw some baking soda on the driveway and go back to sleep. And that's what I did, dreaming of how good the driveway would look after that baking soda had some time to do it's thing. Did it work? Well I won't give away the ending but I will tell you there is some exciting vinegar action as a little bonus!

just don't this goes out to all the Weekend Warriors what this guy is doing is a disgrace to the concrete finishers in the business what you do is you go to Sears get dollar spray can go out and invest in a dollar sprayer and put acid in the sprayer to a small portion of it get a stiff broom and work it in that way when you are done broom finish it with the stiff broom also it is good to have a Shop-Vac there first I would do is suck everything up with the Shop-Vac come back the following day go over it with a stiff broom and a blower and that is a proper way to do it not this guy in his f****** $2 home remedy b*******

For a DIY job, washing detergent is great. You have to leave it on the driveway surface for a week. You have to be patient, wet the area regularly so the dirt absorbs into the detergent. Works well, especially if you spill engine oil.

I was advised to do this at work as non toxic from workers coming in from the mill. The only way I found this worked was to apply muscel and it worked but letting baking soda do the work I found it needed alot help from me rubbing area. Thank goodness only few spots. Did not use vinigar. Again it was only spots from boots. I am looking at for a way on a project to clean and would not be spots, it will be interesting as i can see me brushing and brushing.

New construction. Our basement flooded, leaving thick layer of red clay dried on the concrete floor for over 1 year. My father removed a layer using a hand scraper. I shop-vac'd behind him. My brother and I then used scrub brushes, soap + water, sponges, removing a good deal of clay, but much of it still remained... Finally, after researching some DIY tips, I tested three similar areas of the clay, using: (1.White vinegar (2.Vinegar + Baking soda (3.Hydrogen peroxide The plain, white vinegar was the clear winner; removing all the remainder of the clay. I allowed the vinegar to sit for 15 minutes before using scrub brush + sponge to clean. Initially, my father suggested using a pressure washer, (which we did try)... but we were only able to remove about a foot (a literal 12-inch ruler size) of clay before having to take 30sec-1min of shop-vacing the area from water overflow..... Plus, using a shop-vac inside this space seemed reckless imo. All this said, I'm always looking for a natural/organic method to get the job done before using chemicals... I see people recommending muriatic acid or (this other product with Tetrafluoroborate in the ingredient list)... Fine if you need to get the job done fast..... but otherwise, I'd rather not be breathing bleach/etc. or dumping some daft thing into the environment; some basic ass cleaning vinegar did the trick.
@HWDsouthDIY
@HWDsouthDIY 2 месяца назад
Good to know. I wonder if that 30% vinegar would be the real winner? I've seen it at the big box store but it's much more expensive than the regular strength. Thanks for watching.

A neighbor told me the black discoloring was acid in the concrete that had come to the surface, and he guaranteed I wouldn't find a thing that would clean it off. I did some reading and found out it's mold & mildew from the wet summer we've had. Anyway, just for the heck of it, I had a bottle of KA-BOOM Oxi Clean that I had sitting around. I sprayed a little on part of the driveway, brushed it a little with an old brush then took a hose to it. Looks like brand new concrete!

Yea knowing the game of life, you go to school waiting for the day you get out so you can do whatever you want as an adult. Then you go to work and either have a family or dont and either way youre looking forward to the retirement day so u can do whatever you want and either you die before you make it there, you make it there but are too worn out and beat from working 40 years you cant do much more than eat and shit... or you dont retire with enough money and cant afford to do anything but eat and shit. Both circumstances youre just waiting to die at that point... life fucking sucks...

At a job I had years ago we used something called Zorb-All, anyway I think that was the name. It was similar to sawdust but a little larger particles. Water first, big 5gallon bucket baking soda, then pour Coke on it and scrub.

Probably should of used Arm And Hammer💪 I like the video and when the ol’vinegar came out to play, I thought come-on! You could try peroxiding it but then it might look like blinding white Hollywood teeth😁

Lol Yes Arm and Hammer might have a little more "punch" than the Food Lion brand I used. :) Thanks for watching

Rent a pressure washer and a surface attachment from Home Depot.

You can wet the concrete first then pour chlorine Let it sit for 10 minutes the pressure wash or use outdoor concrete cleaner and pressure wash 🤦🏻‍♀️
@meandmybabytaylor-janfranc1747
Thanks. I was going to do this and now I won't!

Interesting but a Pressure washer would take a fine layer off of the concrete driveway plus it's faster. Rather then the salad dressing approach. Thanks

Funny stuff bro lol at least you can make fails humourous, I sure as hell cant LOL Im not sure if you know that vinegar (acetic acid) is a neutralizer to baking soda thats why it fizzes... both clash, so what was abosrbed came out . It would have improved had you left the baking soda to absorb for a few hours then pressure washed
