I'm from Bhutan and happy to see this spreading like wild fire 🔥🔥🔥. Need support from other countries to help develop our little country and our mindful city.
i visited bhutan more than 5 years ago, part of its charm is the isolation and focusing on living itself. By changing direction to being economy driven will be like 180 degree shift for them. And its too ambitious to be thinking of building metropolitan city without foreign aid like China. When i was there, not even half the country has proper tar road, half of my journey was bouncing around in the car on dirt road.
Extremely wellness sounds came from Bhutan 🇧🇹 bright future come from bright n delight souls, pray from my side all goals come to success through government , Respect from Nepal 🇳🇵🌺🌺🇧🇹🙏🏻.
the bhutan government has stifled private sector for decades and now the people are fed up with the rich getting richer and the poor gettign poorer. Tens of thosuands of Bhutanese have left and many are on the way out to find a better life abroad! good luck to you all and hope your dreams come true outside of bhutan
His Majesty, You are the father of inspiration to all Bhutanese and beyond. You are a result of hard work and passionate dedication to any assignment. You came and cemented a strong bond between people and still building a tower to be emulated by generations hence you are known as people's king. Personally, I love your zeal and resilience. I always get emotional when you start to deliver a speech...You are a living god for us Bhutanese....I am pretty confident Gelephu mindfulness city will be a great project...I am more excited because i am from gelephu....Love live His Majesty...love live Bhutan Palden Drukpa Gyalo🇧🇹🇧🇹🇧🇹🇧🇹🙏💙
@@prodigalfraudaddy Indian history taught you that or you were present at the voting? Sikkim and Uttarakhand, Kalapani were parts of Nepal before Br!tish annexed them. See historical map of Nepal.
Were you present when those maps were drawn or you learnt this from Pakistan's history. At some point of time, a piece of land has been occupied by one larger kingdom or other. The point is they joined India of their own voilition. Historically, Sikkim has been a part of India and will remain so. What kinda history are they teaching at Pakstan(Terror*stan) that says Uttarakhand, a state created in 2000 was a part of another country. Before getting to any of this, first say when are you going to accept that you annexed Balochistan and destroyed their culture?@@awaiskhan9329
One of the amazing countries that I have visited. People are very generous and very kind. They are highly educated and super talented. The tourism and organic agriculture industries should be restrategized for economic growth.
One of the fascinating countries I ever visited. I went there 2 years ago and the guide also told me about his sister who used to work as a hotel manager and moved to Australia and now works there as a cleaning lady but got higher salary. From what they told me, Bhutanese people have a good relationship with Australia because when Covid hit they didn’t fly away to escape but chose to stay and work (which helped the society function).
Haha. I am in aus and almost all of the immigrants here started their career with cleaning and still doing. Even cleaning job are dignified. Y I feel like ur post smells like jealousy.
My hat to Bhutan for having this ambitious goal in mind. I must point out that even the some of most environmental friendly countries in the world such as Germany or Norway have not being able to make it work to the same degree. In addition, it will be very expensive. Sri Lanka had tried to be an all organic food nation and that policy really back fired on it.
Leave all debate aside, people are happy with free health, education, free agricultural assitance, cheap energy and lists goes on. Therefore, this project is for future generation
The Bhutan Megacity project will be difficult to pull off. It will become a white elephant. Plane tickets for the Royal Bhutan Airline is expensive. Accommodation is also not cheap. So only the rich can afford it. But why should they go there for their retreat? Can they get enlightenment faster?? The only thing enjoyable in Bhutan is climbing up to the Tiger Nest Temple. Thailand is already quite well established for Buddhist retreats and will definitely be cheaper.
To compete effectively as a mindfulness centre, cost for tourists have to come down. And you need to work with India and/or China for better overland connections. Having to fly in among the cliffs is crazy and number of flights coming in will be restricted.
But you definitely need to restrict tourist movement from the Mindfulness Megacity. The transport infrastructure in the country cannot support mass tourism. Accidents are bound to happen on the narrow mountain cliff roads; with disastrous consequences.
When Singapore 50 times smaller than Bhutan could achieve everything, why not Bhutan? I am just waiting to complete my studies to return Bhutan. Now, it’s our time, we have suffered a lot in the name of preserving nature, fighting global warming. It’s not only our responsibility, every country should act and why should we shoulder the responsibility of doing everything by ourselves?
Loll......Singapore is at the tip of straits of Malacca, the busiest straits in the world.....how to compare a land locked country like Bhutan? Even Kazakhstan need many times of effort just to attract foreign investment though
Yep you're right but they can find their ways to utilise their assets in an economical way, and btw Singapore had a strong minded leader Lee Kuan yew, so they need a leader who can do proper business and can tackle problems, they don't have major lifestyle problems such as Singapore had before economic rise like poverty, lack of food and resources, etc.@@chinthengfong1598
@@themultiverse405 I didn't laugh, I'm spitting fact, can Bhutan compete with Singapore both economically and financially? And, if you want progress, Bhutan should lift up the recognition for both PRC and ROC then we talk
Nah..Bhutan govt prefers to employ foreign workers instead of own people. Recently they decide to employ thousands of foreign nurses which will be paid much higher (even comparable to Bhutanese Dr) than Bhutanese nurses but the problem here is Bhutan got sufficient nursing colleges and there are plenty of Bhutanese nurses but yet they won't employ all of them. Funny how the govt cry about brain drain but wont employ them.🤡 And fyi Bhutan ain't Last Shangri-La anymore, rape and murder cases are seen every once in a while, case of mother abandoning infants are also not rare anymore. Bhutan government should address this asap if not more ppl will be leaving this country. ~(concerned Bhutanese youth)
It was ridiculous from the beginning allowing Internet but not getting higher wages, many Bhutanese watching others getting big houses cars and all for the same work they do, is easy for them to blame covid when the problem was showing way before covid hit, at least they are looking very western making excuses. Is imposible to mix spiritualism with capitalism and they know but they have no choice this time.

Bhutan doesn’t need massive project, focus on infrastructure development and ease tourism your small country and population will benefit from it not propaganda of happiness alone.
Bhutan have ppp per capita even similar to south africa, still better than many asian countries while preserving its culture and environment. No overwork, perfect work life balance, less stress A human should think about himself too sometimes than rather thinking as whole nation to progress fast like korea where your future generation could either barely sustian or die.
Yes! Tourism and Development goes All Together. To start with Tourism Sector needs to be Promoted. Infrastructure needs to be created for Tourism. Promotion of Tourism need to be done for International Attention. Airport Infrastructure need to be Improved.
They speak very food English! Hope Bhutan can develop into a country which can balance GDP and happiness. It will take years and years. The people must be trained to accept some capitalism too.
To the leaders and my fellow citizens never give up on the possibilities of greater future ahead of our new generation, as it’s all depends on how we react and think about our future. Only if we follow one plan, it will work. Please stay positive and react positively
There are already plenty of established retreats in Thailand. It will not be easy for this project to succeed. I don't see anything special it has to offer.
Every country is special in its own way. It depends how you present it . Thailand being popular retreat hasn't Stopped Bali , Nepal , Maldives , Switzerland being parallel retreat destination
@@theMiaow Economy is about money and competitiveness, I think we can agree that mindfulness is not about that. Anyway, both you and I are keyboard warriors, we can type anything we want :)
I wish the Doc makers would give some facts like how much would a project like this will cost ? How long will it take to build it if they got 100% funding.
While large-scale projects like the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) naturally raise questions about feasibility, it's important to recognize that doubts can hinder the transformative vision His Majesty holds for Bhutan and the region. Everyone has a role to play in the success of this special city, and we hope conscious investors will contribute their resources to its development. The GMC envisions a harmonious blend of nature, culture, and modern living, creating a sustainable haven that fosters well-being, innovation, and economic growth while preserving Bhutan's unique heritage and environment.
The most beautiful of Bhutan, for me, are the children. They are pure, like a diamond. Their eyes shine and have the bright of pure beings. they are carried on the backs of their happy mothers with pride and naturally. Many young bhutanese people migrate for a simple opportuity of to live like 'west' people. The goverment, as in many (all) others countries in the world, is the same: they live in his own world of rules, tax, and socialist ideology, without working for the people
150,000 Bhutanese living refugee else where in the planet kicked out in 1990. Take them back you will have almost 1 Million. World has forgotten them. Some 15,000 still living in hot tropical plains of Nepal under auspicious of UNHCR. Dr. Bhumpa Rai, then Royal eye surgeon until he fled the kingdom recently died in refugee camp. He never had his wish to live in west but remained in hot plains as refugee in hope of returning his mother land Bhutan. Rest In Peace Dr. Rai. You are truly Bhutanese patriot.
Those are Neplese immigrants who tried to overthrow King by Going against the law. Bhutan have right to protect its country. Traitors will be dealt same way in any country .
Nepali migration is the biggest threat to the world. Australia, Finland, Germany all developed countries are now full of illegal nepali migrants. Bhutan King did a great job to get out illegal migrants from Nepal to save the locals.
All parts of the Himalayan region has some issues. However, among the players, the Bhutanese monarchy is the worst, surpassing even the Indians and the Chinese in their acts of cruelty.

I don’t think this PM is honest , Bhutan could have easily developed with tourism but their obky source of income was stopped after Covid as they raised the tariffs on tourists and locked themselves for more than a year during Covid … on if the dumbest decisions any country could make were made … I don’t get why the citizens don’t complain too much submissiveness

megacity project if depending on foreign investors alone will not be enticing noting transportation out of bhutan is a nightmare. besdies tourism or agriculture industries. I cant see what kind of investment Bhutan can entice into the country let alone investment in a mega city. I fear this would open the door and push Bhutan into the hands of China.
This is the same guy who chase 100k nepalese orgin bhutnese people and now he expect his other bhutenese to come back to bhutan.
